You can’t win 3 games at home all season and expect anything other than defeatism from the fans. We had summat to get behind under flicker. We had a proper go. Other than Saturday there has been no sign of this. Even Saturday both times we went into the lead we went into out shells.

You did say that, and you were right (so far). I think more positively than that though. The day I go to matches and moan all the time will never come - I either go with a positive attitude, or there's no point in going. Why pay out a load of dosh just to be unhappy and bicker all the time?

I genuinely think this squad should have been good enough to scrape survival. They still may be. There's just been too much behind the scenes stuff going on, that I couldn't have predicted a year ago.

I'll be there next season anyway, there's far too many important things in life to worry about a few football results.

Not meaning to trivialise life at all Ian, this is a football forum and i'm commenting on the situation at a club which, in my time, has been in far worse states than today's, many times, but in my opininion this is totally self inflicted. When you're playing at a certain level you can buy from a lower level and if you're lucky can prosper, and boy where we lucky. The next step, if the team is playing at a higher level its absolute folly to go back and sign from the same level and expect to be lucky again. Then to cap it all next seasons ticket prices are released, my ticket, if bought early bird is a tenner more expensive seemingly even on relegation. I bought this seasons 5 mins before the deadline, next season's, who knows?

Agreed. We've a chance for a new start now though. It remains to be seen what will happen. I'll be there to see it though and I suspect that you will too.

He also played in the conference for them but being as your being pedantic ,at the point he left they had come into the league but your point about all our earlier signing came fro the same or one division below is incorrect , the permanent signings from last six windows have all been from the same spreadsheet model which by & large has proven to be consistent

Didn`t Barnet come back into the league for the 2015/16 season and we signed Yids in Summer 2016?

Also where is the earlier post you refer to?

If I had to put a bet on I’d say we’re going down but I still think there’s hope. We have a stronger team than we did before January where as Bolton have a weaker one.

As long as we beat them we only have to pick up 2 more points than them out of the rest of the games to play & we have 6 of them & they only have 5 so there’s still a decent shot at survival.

Apologies , got you mixed up with Tyketastic ( senior moment ) who was inferring we bought all our better signings from the the league below us , I was pointing out that some of come from below one level, as incidentally was Yiadom , even if he was in division 2 when he signed , we were in the Championship

Yep - I think we were averaging 2 points per game under flicker post Xmas weren’t we - that’s championship form! Or I recall it being close to that.

The point being we didn't seem to move up the level we were looking at even though we were at a higher level. We also didn't take into account that we really struggled in league one while they got up to speed and trying that in the championship was a much bigger ask.
