He shouldn’t take our job, he’s had several years of the small budget keeping them safe type of job. For me he deserves a chance to spend a bit of money & compete at the top end of the league. West Brom seems on paper an ideal job for him
I've always wanted to see Macca back at Barnsley. He's always going to be out of our reach though, until he's past his best. Big shame.
I see everyone’s forgotten we have a manager... Sorry, he didn’t make us an unstoppable force with none of his own players in 2 months so forget him.
Why the obsession with MM ? I watched him as a young player at Oakwell and followed his career with interest . But would anybody want him if he wasn’t from “ tarn” ? Go retire and take it easy Mick .
I don’t think they put up much of a fight by sounds of match giving a sloppy goal away it was more us not being on it .took a lot out of us against Blunts
No, we don't have a manager! We have a head coach. Mick would not come to us in that capacity and that, unfortunately, is why we may always struggle to get the best man for the job. Mick would not be the sort of person to cowtow to superiors who want to run the club via a spreadsheet or a "plan".
I think he meant in general that managers have more hands-on control of club affairs when compared to head coaches. And that Mick wouldn't be too keen on relinquishing some of that control.
I stand corrected.Call it old age or wishful thinking but that's genuinely what I thought I heard. Oh well, we can only dream!
Ye I’d imagine they’d still want him. He’s consistently overachieved at this level for at least 12 years if not a bit longer
Give us 3 points, bloody hell would have shot reight darn in my estimation if he hed done that and whats more if we are to survive I want us to do it fair and square or the game of football aint for me anymore.
Mick is Barnsley through and through. Is regarded as a legend at the club and in the town. One bad run of results managing us and he'd be getting dogs abuse and have everything tarnished. He'd have to be bonkers. That said I'd be interested in what he could offer as Director of Football.
Well, it's a fair question and I haven't got a definitive answer. I'd say that if you have a head coach, he's here to do that...take training, pick the team. I'd say DOF would have a say in the targeting and recruitment of players, contract negotiations, football philosophy...the framework. Football philosophy sounds a bit pretentious but I doubt many people want a Warnock, Blackwell, Pulis style of football down at Oakwell.
