Keep the spreadsheet by all means, but only as part of our recruitment process.

That's not quite true about Hill though, is it? In the first season we were never, ever in danger of relegation. Had Portsmouth not had the points deducted, it's very unlikely that we would have taken our foot off the gas like we did. Plus they cheated, pure and simple. It's like saying that a gold medal doesn't count, because another athlete got disqualified for using steroids. We stayed up fair and square. The season after - we were absolutely brilliant once the side gelled, and had we not had our entire attacking impetus ripped out the team in January, I'm pretty sure we'd have finished comfortably top ten.

If Hecky & Leeds lose to the likes of Barnsley next weekend then... well, you can guess the rest can't you. :p
Remember us battling to a 1-2 win there near the end of 89-90, a result which took us out of the drop zone. Ok if we can't take advantage of an extremely poor Ipswich team then theres not much chance of us winning any remaining games, is there ?. lol

That season was the same season, when Butterfield got injured, Vaz Te went to West Ham, and Drinkwater went to Leicester. That second half of the season was awful and we could have quite easily been relegated had Portsmouth not been deducted points. I’m not sure we took our foot off the gas at all, I witnessed most of it, we were *****.

I think we have been unfortunate this season with bad luck and poor refereeing. I do not believe we are one of the worst three teams in this division, and for that reason I think we shall retain our status.

If you look at it as we started the season with loads of lower league up an coming new recruits after a poor second half of the season last year, we have had PC passing, the takeover, missing out on mcburnie in the summer, new owners, hecky jumping ship to dirty leeds, look at the financial differences of the league teams, new foreign players and coaching staff, recruitment of loads of no. 10s from a plan that didn't fit to any sort of playing formation, new foreign CEO, losing Harvey Barnes when he could have been here for the full season.

Taking all that into consideration I think if we stay up then it is definitely some achievement, it's not been your average season.

I stand corrected. Most seasons merge into one. That one obviously morphed into two.
