Nice one Gordon. Hope you had a good day out. Weather could have been kinder, but there were some good finishes. More tricky stuff today, so hopeful rather than expectant! Hopefully the Reds will be first past the post.

Important Announcement Regarding the office of BBS Racing Afficianado: Please kindly address all further correspondence to Mr Upthcolliers! Very good call Mr UTC! Further thoughts on the meeting to be posted tomorrow morning as I am still coming to terms with the emotional roller-coaster at Oakwell this afternoon!
2 from 12 (17%) for me with a further five placed for a 6.2 point loss (£62 to £10 stakes) - so unlike Cheltenham, not a profitable meeting personally! Punting honours go to Tobytyke1999 for picking out Finian's Oscar and also to the magnificent Upthecolliers for his trainer/jockey in form pick Tiger Roll. Cracking performances on Thursday from Finian's Oscar, We Have A Dream and especially Might Bite, who were impressive winners. Terrefort was a highlight on Friday, and although I couldn't have had him on recent form, Ultragold did well to win a second consecutive Topham for connections - a great spectacle. Solid favourites yesterday in Black Op and Thomas Patrick. The National itself was another great race to watch. My pick Total Recall put paid to his chances with early errors. Tiger Roll had won the Cross Country at Cheltenham, and produced another good round of jumping, just lasting home from Pleasant Company. Anibale's Fly's fourth meant two of the better fancied horses were in the first four, and Bryony Frost put up a good performance in fifth on Milansbar. Michael O'Leary is a controversial character, but he puts an awful lot of money into the National Hunt game, and the talented, experienced and ever-gracious Davy Russell thoroughly deserved his first National. Always a tricky meeting, this, with the regular game of guessing which horses will have come on for their Cheltenham runs and which will have left their races behind there. The Flat kicks into gear this week with the Craven Meeting at Newmarket and more Guineas trials at Newbury next weekend. Bring it on!
