Never met him tbh good player for is but a poor appointment when we had a great chance to go straight back up
His character was completely wrong to move from teammate to manager. Opposite to Hammill. Danny for example if you looked at him as a person you would have thought a good choice.
Would not want him in L1 or if we stay up.. but if he can dig 2-3 wins out of the next 4 games, then maybe he should allowed his chance.. if we stay up id bite mi lip But what an uninspiring, baffling and disappointing choice for coach.. I wouldn't be surprised to see him tho, still here come Aug. Even if we drop. Bit like when Old Shep and PC steam rolled Davey into the job despite losing at home 3-0 to Wednesday. This new board and GG have shown nothing to suggest that this new era will be owt other than a huge disappointment. Not seen anything to suggest other wise.
I like him. I like his interviews, he seems like an intelligent, decent bloke. He's inherited a squad that not only appears to be lacking in quality at this level, but also struggles with fitness. Many of our players are running on empty for much of the second half. It's not a recipe for success and none of that is Morais' fault. But some of his substitutions baffle me as I watch a team that was competing quite well reduced to a shambles. Even when I thought he got it right against Sheff Utd, I also thought it was 10 minutes too late as Isgrove was gone within 2 minutes of the restart. I'm of the opinion that 4-3-3 isn't something he's employed because it suits the players we have at the club, but his style of play and that's what we're going to do, whether it works or not. He told us and every opposition manager how he liked his teams to play in the press conference to announce his tenure before he'd even worked with the squad. I don't like sacking managers. I think it's too early to sack him whatever happens. But I'm far from convinced. Decent intelligent blokes don't necessarily make good football managers. Neil Warnock is a ******* arsehole but he's a fantastic football manager at this level.
If he keeps us up he deserves a chance to put together a team for next season. If we go down I'd rather get someone who has a track record getting teams promoted from the lower divisions.
well maybe I should take over on that qualification.... many on here reckon I run Colin a very close second in the Botty stakes .
If we stay up yes, go down no simple as that for me. Don't get all the jose out stuff though I find it embarrasing
Bloke deserves a chance to bring in some of his own players. Hopefully the owners will back him to give him a chance.
Exactly. If we see more of the same recruitment, then we'll see more of the same results. If we go down is a different matter of course, but if we stay up then changes have to be made.
He's come in to replace Hecky... there's been a slight improvement maybe but certainly no decrease in terms of results, so why do you reckon that's the case? Could it be that it's the quality of players we have and not the manager to blame? So maybe sacking the boss isn't the best option?
Got to stay for me.A preseason with additions then we'll know more about his capabilities. He seems to have instilled some believe into the players (late goals last week and this) he can't do much about improving the quality of the players at his disposal.
Personally think the guys utter shibo(José) yes I’ve seen a little improvement, based on Jackson being fit again, That Moore Character playing ( joining in Jan), Mr Gardner getting to play in his preferred position( how lucky was that red card) and Mr Mcburnie Scores even when played out of position( Another Jan Signing)
Hasnt a clue about english football. Players dont know what the **** they are supposed to be doing and his substitutions are a mystery. Mahoney on for fryers... even though isgrove and hedges on bench???? Get rid and get mick mccarthy on phone.
It's a strange one. When he was announced, all the hype was around the work he'd done with Mourinho, even going as far as comparing the two. But despite the years he has put in working under Mourinho, he doesn't seem to have picked up any of the qualities that made his boss a success. The team doesn't look organised, or good at the back. And we don't seem to know how to grind results, which the more successful J.M. is a master of. But the most worrying thing is what someone pointed out earlier. There doesn't seem to be any leadership from him on the touchline. When we were 1 up earlier but under the cosh, we were crying out for some leadership to steady the team, and it just wasn't forthcoming.
He has knowledge and rich experience - but he is totally unsuited to a Championship relegation scrap, and even less so to League One. Right man, wrong time and place.
He’s got to have a chance with his own players. I think whether we stay up or go down he should be here (although given his track record he might not want to be here). It’s certainly got more entertaining now as we actually score some goals. 7 in the last 3 home games is it? But some of his selections are a bit strange. Like us scoring and playing well against Sheff U in a 4-3-3 to then him changing it to a 4-4-2 against Ipswich and us drawing a blank. Then today bringing Bradshaw on when Potts got injured, I’m guessing he’s more of a “attack is the best kind of defence” guy but it definitely didn’t work. Be interesting to see what kind of links he has and who he can convince to come here in the summer regardless what division we’re in.
The his own players thing won’t happen. The vast majority that are here now will still be here next year.
