Has any journalist asked him if he applied for the Sunderland and Notts Forest jobs when they were vacant ? When Patrick was the owner like. So the club were bang out of order to be shocked and surprised, and I assume by definition he's saying they are making up the 'working tirelessly' thing ? Righty ho.
Seems fine to me. He’s not the first manager to gripe after leaving the club. I hardly think the club are blameless in this regard. Hopefully we’ll think on before declaring “one of our own” in the future. The club is a stepping stone, for better or worse.
Listening to that interview, Hecky reckons he grew too big for the Barnsley managers job and it was time to move on. I'd disagree with him on that. He inherited a club that had started to win again under LJ. Slowly under his tenure (given the sales of players), the standard of our play eroded to the point at which he decided to leave. If he had left us, again solidly mid table, I might have agreed with him but, no he did not get too big for this job, he has not proven himself in this division at all as yet.
I don’t get it! Did he honestly think we would all applaud him for joining one of the enemies? A club he self confessed to hate as a bairn. The more that comes out about him at that club now makes its nigh on impossible to think he was a Tarn fan growing up. He really has burnt every single bridge with Barnsley, only way he could make things worse now was if he was to beast Toby Tyke whilst doing the Leeds salute!
The fact is it was in the club's best interest to put the "blame" on Hecky. It is also in his interest to say that isn't true. While it is interesting to hear his take on it, it doesn't tell us anything other than what we already knew.
For me it sounds like the relationship was soured long before the owners changed and he obviously saw nothing changing in the short term. He always said that he didn’t want players who didn’t want to be here so it’s right he ****** off If there is more to it, come out a say it, don’t speak with a forked tongue.
By that he was actually referring to his past role in the academy. On the grand scale of things it was a minor coaching role.. He didn't actually refer to the managers job as a minor role.
TBF I've lost ******* interest, think his pig was killed in Jan 17. But of course, new owners motives and that. **** off.
"I **** on my home-town club, ****** off to the Jimmy Saviles, and it's everybody else's fault bar mine."
Fair enough, I was just reading it and getting madder and madder, by the time I got to that bit my eyes were probably on fire!
Would you turn down a pay rise if you were unhappy at work? Or take it and keep looking for another job?
Barnsley FC in being unprofessional shocker. I know everyone hates him but he's right. People were pleased reading it because they were angry with Hecky and the club statement helped match that but it did read like a pathetic knee jerk response from someone who was angry or upset.
