    What ? We’re only little owd Barnsley ? Ffs that’s exactly why the club is in the dark ages . Fook me if that’s the level of the average fans ambition they might as well shut the club . Oh and btw the money IS there and I hope they get some spent COD that’s the only way we’ll move forward . Spending is not a guarantee of success but not spending is a guarantee of failure !

    Not before coming to Oakwell, but a year in an assistant manager role at a Division 2 (old money) club when he got the job. I seem to recall (although could be wrong), that Wilson was doing much of the coaching behind the scenes in that year under Anderson. That is one year more than Lampard (or Barton at Fleetwood) have. Incidentally, its also more than Hendry had when he took over and that didn't go so well.

    With an old, experienced assistant a good manager can do a good/great job, but a less-than-good one will be exposed and ultimately fail.

    Id love to see it and somebody like Mick Mac would definitely do that, but we all know thats never going to happen.

    What about Sol Cambell then ? , surely he was a top defender & could have sorted our defence out , oh wait a minute, maybe not , he tried before at Notts county & made a pigs ear of that.
