Of course not, but I think it shows staying was on the table at the time. We didn't act, he should have been tied down before Jan came along. What we do know is the club made no attempt to renew contracts. I know for fact we never offered Roberts a contract. Unless Mark is lying.
I'm not going to rehash all this again but these people are working closely day in day out. They will have known informally what a player wanted. If it wasn't worth offering a contract because it would be rejected why offer it? From my point of view you'd have to be terminally certifiable to allow Roberts and Scowen to leave if there was a serious chance of keeping them.
Theres no doubt that Davies was starting to lose it last season and was costing us points then. This certainly hasn't become a sudden overnight slump from him, and Townsend has always been even worse.
Agreed there. We've always had to cut our cloth as long as I can remember. I'm clinging to the belief that with the new ownership that will change.
Aren't we all. It's the main reason I hope we stay up to See what the owners do in terms of recruitment. If we go down then we won't really be able to tell if anything has changed.
Why would it be arrogant? Maybe misplaced judgement. Arrogant? I doubt it. I know it's the trend to hate everything Heckingbottom did but he had calls to make on a tight budget. I reckon I've a decent idea about how good or otherwise footballers are. We all do. I do know that compared to someone who's played the game all his life I'm a rank amateur. Making a mistake isn't necessarily arrogant. Imagining you know more than someone far more qualified is.
