No reason why any further correspondance can't go through the agent. Just trying to circumnavigate the delay in viewing, which may scupper the chance of purchase. Like I said, snooze, you lose. What can you lose by trying to jump in first?
Problem is when they have your number, that's it...there's no getting it back... Problems with the sale, renegotiation of price, revisits to measure up, issues with surveys/home buyers reports...even post-sale they can still get you. Not a situation I'd like to be in.
Could be doubling up as a brothel. Turn up in the evening wearing a gimp mask and see if they tell you to use the back entrance *ahem*.
If you're still around the Headingley area where I used to live then I can back this up. The estate agents around there treat you with contempt. They know the houses will get sold. The viewings are often walking round with two groups of people and then sealed bids . It's bloody awful and they're a set of parasites the lot of them. No need for estate agents and their day will come soon.
That sounds awful. I'm glad we picked one (for selling) where it's easy to book and arrange appointments any day of the week. Surely if you want to sell your house, you want people to be able to actually come and have a look. Especially with purchasing a house, most people will be working, otherwise they couldn't afford one. And then if you struggle to do a viewing outside of our working hours, that's just ridiculous.
Well, we decided to wait for the 5th to view the house as we thought the points Vesp made about not getting into direct contact with the vendors were valid. There were 3 different groups plus us viewing which makes sense why they opted for a date a bit in the future now I guess. Everything seemed good so we put in an offer of 5k under yesterday which they rejected as expected, saying they wouldn’t accept less than asking. We considered haggling further but it’s within our budget and we like it so we offered asking price today with stipulations of all carpets, blinds etc. plus their big range cooker being included, which they accepted. They still need to find a house which is annoying but the estate agent seemed confident that they would be able to find one quickly due to where they were looking. Exciting and nervy times!!
What estate agents is it out of curiosity? The right move Furness Lyman down Wombwell are right t***ers. Well, one of them is. I won’t mention names but he’s about 15 stone over weight and only bloke that works there.
It's a seller's market right now. I put my house on the market and sold it to the first viewers for full asking price within one day.
