Interesting that Jose doesn't think relegation is a failure but his boss who hired him with the sole aim of keeping us up says it is.
Maybe because Ganaye isnt 100% deluded? He may be inexperienced as a ceo, he certainly got the managerial appointment wrong, but I don’t dislike him. He comes across ok. As for the man he and the rest appointed, got to go. If he is so far up his own backside to not realise that relegation would be a failure (or not honest enough to publicly admit it), even if he was a good manager he shouldn’t be here. He’s not even that.
Personally I think GG should have issued a statement on the official site correcting Jose because for the 99% of reds fans who don't read the chronicle they will believe the CLUB doesn't see it as a failure
Thanks for posting I wouldn't have seen that otherwise. Great interview. I know it easy to say these things and in reality makes no difference but it's still nice to hear it. Does as other say look like he will be gone if we go down.
Those comments are a massive positive for the club in my view. The first step in addressing problems is to realise you have got a problem. Gauthier acknowledges this, and reaffirms his own and the new owners' long-term commitment if his comments are taken at face value (and there is no reason to do otherwise). To judge by what GG said, the writing is on the wall for Morais, and presumably his staff. The comments about the players are also illuminating. I hope they're already giving thought to who will replace Jose, because the last thing we want is to spend half the summer over that decision. Young, and development-focused would be my idea of what is required. The new head coach needs to be got in very soon so that recruitment targets can be identified with his (or her) input. On this season's evidence, I'd favour young lads who have done some hard yards in the lower leagues rather than more speculative imports from the European scene. Knasmullner and Thiam look like gambles that have not paid off. But the quality of whoever is brought in needs to be more rigorously assessed if we are to avoid more players who are simply not up to the job. I repeat though, Gauthier's comments are a step forward in terms of their realism. That is just as well because all the power within our club now rests with GG.
"We appointed him with one mission and one mission only....which is to keep us in this division" That's a pretty pointed statement.
Very critical of the players too blaming them for lack of effort. A good read but it sounds a bit like it is coming from someone trying to cover his own tracks.
I do not think he is covering is own back ,I think he is saying it as he sees it & eludes to making mistakes himself . I do not get this criticism of GG , I think he seems to get the hammer for the failures on the pitch which in my opinion is wrong . The fans wanted to hear from the club & he has responded , the message he his saying is pretty clear & I applaud him for that
Bang with you there. He is indicating that it is not good enough and he sounds minded to do something about it.
He accused the players of not putting in the effort and they agreed. Well int that bloody disgusting? What a bunch of tossers.
I think like other CEOs we've had and their pervious incarnation The Don. (they just upgraded the job description from secretary) They do as they are told, and act as a buffer for their bosses.. they simply just do as they are told. GG will not be the man who set jose on..
