Not been his biggest fan by a long shot, but I think he deserves some praise for today. At half time we knew that they were going to come at us, as a draw was no good to them. Instead of sitting back, we pressed them even harder. It was a brave move, but for me that was what won us the game, and we could have had even more. Now, for the love of God, pick the same f***ing team next week!!!
I’ve been very critical, but today he picked the right team, and the right formation, and the players seemed well up for it. If he gets knocked for getting it wrong he deserves credit for getting it right. Bit late but reckon he’ll be kicking himself he has only just realised Pinnock is class, and Mahoney is a very tricky winger.
Its always the right team and formation when we win.Long may it continue. In my opinion the best performance of the season.
Up there with the 0-0 with Wolves and 3-2 Blunts victory as performance of the season. That two of those three games have happened in recent weeks, gives hope for next Sunday.
Credit to manager i said to my bro when i saw the team we might win today. I felt we would play well 2 up top and 2 wingers and it proved the right decision. COYR
Next week's team then . Davies Cavare Mills Jackson Pearson Thiam Potts Gardener Knasmullner Pinnillos Badshaw
Sad post. Kind of post based on a win. Yeah we really mullared them today - we dominated possession and dictated the play didn't we? Or did we just get the rub of the green?
We had the rub of the green for the first goal but not after that. We created several great chances and they didn’t. Well overdue the bit of luck for the first goal
That was a good win today and the players did well So why did we not turn out that team at Notts If he had played this team which is about the best we have we might have got something Not grumbling but let's not get carried away it was credit for Morais. It was the players that we should have been playing the majority of the time
Fair comments I reckon. The tinkering is the only thing I've found frustrating, that apart I'd like to see him given at least the summer window and possibly next January too, regardless of next week's outcome. Our home form has improved under him, and I don't think we can dismiss the McBurnie impact, but in our last four home games we've looked a half decent side for long periods of each game. There were probably 4 or 5 of the starting 11 today who are likely to be gone after next weekend. Be interesting to see the recruitment strategy if we stay up. I'd like to see us try and capture 1 or 2 older heads, no idea who to be fair, as I do think total reliance on younger lower league players has proved a step too far at this level, but I still live in hope that 1 or 2 of them gain confidence from this season, more so if we so survive. A confident side would potentially see better performances from some of our recruits from last summer. I also don't know if we have any first team ready players in our academy. With a bit of experience around them who knows what they could do? I'm ready for an interesting rollercoaster 3 years ahead I think.
Only one team were winning after 15 minutes, as Daniel said on praise or grumble, Walton folded his kit up and put in in his bag for Sunday it was that clean. The point is that I keep hearing on here we’ve not improved since Judas left. So I’m interested in the data after today. A “sad post”? Ok mate. Whatever.
Hecky was equally guilty of tinkering. In many ways, Morais inherited an unsettled lineup with too many players having played too few games.
Today was the kind of performance I’ve been expecting more of after we signed McBurnie & Moore. Combined the grit that Hecky had us playing with along with the added quality of McBurnie & Moore.
I'm not sure if Mahoney has been fit since he arrived looked very poor v Fulham but he came with a good reputation and big things were expected glad to hear he played well today. Pinnock has looked great since Preston when he was motm then scored 2 in 2 equaliser against reading and winner at Sunderland but got injured and lost his place to Jackson. Hard to believe that the highest he has played before this season is confrence one to watch next season.
