The "Flat Earth" theory fascinates me personally. I think it's because I know all the scientific evidence tells us that the earth is a sphere, but these flat earth guys can dig up all sorts of weird and wacky evidence to support their theory and some of it can actually make you think, "hang on, that does make sense", before your common sense snaps you back into reality...

It's up there with people who deny evolution, or the age of the Earth.

Don't know off the top of my head. I remember something about the earths curvature that rang true until, like I said in my first post, common sense prevailed...

I don't understand why this issue is getting so much air time. A whole day was spent talking about it on Radio Five Live recently.

Yeah its an interesting concept same as alot of other topics..... I dont know enough about it, probably the same as the majority of people so we just take the 'offical' narrative. Nothing wrong with been skeptical though.

There's a couple in my local who deny that man ever landed on the moon, and it was all a fake by the US government. They're complete loons.

I once got dragged into a discussion about it with them. It was like trying to teach a carrot how to develop web applications in PHP using AJAX in JavaScript for real time server updates. Or teaching my mother how to bat with a stick of rhubarb.

If ever anyone goes in there, don't mention the 9/11 attacks either.

Can I get in a plane (or amphibious vehicle) set off in one direction and arrive back (roughly) where I started without turning?

If yes the earth cannot be flat
If no the earth is flat
