I was loyal to Hecky due to the promotion season. I feel that bought him the credit- rather than where he was from. He took us up playing brilliant, exciting football - and showed he could do the same in a division higher until January 17.

I felt that entitled him to be cut some slack when things didn't go his way.

I'll hate him if he fcuks about with a winning side like he's suggested in his press conference.

Only just seen this and I understand that is your opinion. My opinion is that without PC we wouldn't have a club to be in this position. He didn't get everything right but the debt of gratitude this club - and town owe PC is enormous.

The guys clueless. Poor side with poor players. It what we do have is a target man who wins everything and a good finisher. Most people would have the bright idea of sticking them in the box together

"I'm considering one or two changes"

    FFS.

We were fantastic against Brentford. Why even consider it? Hopefully this is just press conference fluff.

If we blow this opportunity we've given ourselves and end up going down because of him making more pointless changes, then he should be sacked on Tuesday morning. (he can have Monday off as it a bank holiday!)
I don't trust him with the new summer recruitment plan, and thats whether we stay up or not. He might not stay around beyond next season either so thats another reason to think twice about keeping him on.

Saved the club whilst other interested parties were delaying bids in the hope of getting themselves a better deal

Ive often wondered why Peter Doyle got villified and boo'ed by our fans, when as far as I could see he was the only one who came forward and saved us in Nov '02.
I don't know anything about him but Ive heard some right dodgy stories about him to be honest.

His family already had a reputation whiich meant people took an instant dislike to him. That coupled with the aggressive tone of his interviews and statements meant he was disliked.

Yes that kind of backs up what Ive heard about him to be honest.
But remember when we were running out of time and money and patience then, the admin bloke seemed to think Doyle's was the best and only genuine offer on the table.

Other parties were waiting as their advisors had told them they could buy the club for a better deal if they waited while desperate fans were running around doing everything they could to keep the club afloat.

Maybe, but it does all come down to this game so he (and we) can't afford to be pratting about with the team again.

I agree with you over the team , we all want to see the same team as last saturday , however , if we lose
to sack Morais on tuesday & therefore blaming him for relegation is wrong , we will drop because we have not accumulated enough points over 46 matches not over 90 minutes at Pride Park. There have been plenty of times this season where team selection under Hecky has left you scratching your head & although these things can never be proven , you wonder if points have been thrown away because of this, we all have our own opinions

I think Jose deserves some credit too. There have been strange decisions at times, but his decision to play Walton was a good one & to move Hammill to a more central role. I'm not convinced overall he's the man to take us forward, but if blame is being handed out I'd leave that at Hecky's door with the manner of his departure & the poor recruitment in the last 3 transfer windows.

I will give him the thumbs up Peachey for giving Jack Walton his chance, and maybe he should have done it before that game in hand at Florist. And whether it was good luck or good judgment he found a winning formula against Brentford, like putting Hammill more central. And my hope is he will stick with something that worked, theres absolutely NO need to change that team is there.
What worries me is his record of not staying around too long at any club and if we do stick with him and give him a summer to spend on his own choice of players, what if he leaves again before the end of the season and we'll be back to square one again!.

And CB, I agree with you as well over the fact that this is a 46 game season, and our problems started all the way back in August on the opening day at Bristol City. I didnt go along with the Hecky love in by the way and I wanted him out long before he did leave, so I know he was the one who put us in this awful position to begin with.
