Just as an aside... we call him 'Stevie' because it fitted our song for him. To the tune of '7 Nation Army' by the White Stripes, the very simple chant was a repeat of... 'Oh, wee Stevie Mallan, oh, wee Stevie Mallan...' We heard it a lot in the second half of this season as both Mallan and St Mirren went on a run of superb form.
Can we have him back please. Having just won the Championship, and heading back to the top flight, we will get his career back on track, under Scotland’s manager of the year, Jack Ross. We’re on our way, we’re on our way, to the Premiership, we’re on our way.
No you ******* can't old boy, I reckon you mallan will be a decent asset for us in league 1, congratulations on you're promotion btw , sithi.
Seriously though, whats the point up there? You are always playing for second place. Not a wind up I just don't see what the Celtic fans get out of it season after season winning nearly every domestic match, losing mas soon as they start in europe.
What’s the point? What, like other countries don’t have big clubs who dominate? What’s the point of anyone supporting a club like Celta Vigo in Spain, Den Haag in Holland, or anyone bar Bayern Munich or Dortmund in Germany? Next season, the point will be to pish ourselves laughing at the gobby Scouser The Rangers 2012 have just handed a four-year contract to.
You don't have to be in Scotland to do that. There will be lots of laughs about that on this side of the wall too.
First off I believe you support your local team so that’s why I support St.Mirren. We did finish 3rd in the Premier once but you’re right, realistically we’re not going to challenge Celtic or in the past (and probably future) Rangers. But in the 30+ years I’ve supported them I’ve seen us win the Scottish Cup, the League Cup, three Championships and play in Europe which I consider pretty good for a team our size. Yes the cup wins only come around every 25 or 30 years but in England, Spain, Germany etc. how many teams outside the top few win trophies? In this time I’ve also seen Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hearts, Hibs, St.Johnstone, Motherwell, Ross County, Inverness, Livingstone, Raith Rovers and Kilmarnock win trophies and a further six different teams lose finals - almost half the teams in Scotland. Scottish football is far from perfect but there is more chance of seeing your team compete for silverware up here and it’s all the more enjoyable winning it when every team outside the Old Firm are underdogs. Unfortunately I’ve also seen us relegated a few times and know how that feels. Good luck next season and hope Mallan plays a starring role for you.
I get the other fans, hope springs eternal and all that, but withCeltic fans how do they get the enthusiasm?
Relegation, eh. Like what you suffered today. You don’t appear to be taking it too well, understandably. Best of luck in the third tier, I don’t know what that’s like, since we were founded in 1877 we have never dropped into the third tier. Can’t wait for next season, when Celtic allow us to play with their ball, in front of 60,000,I’ll be watching my local team take them on. Where will you be going?
Yer but your third level that’s about what the equivalent of theConference? Don’t worry about us we will still be with our local team pushing back up!
Our third tier is like you finishing mid table next year, and we'll still have double your crowds at home to Accrington. Enjoy it though, l bet you're over the moon.
