Got shut of the manager and his mates straight away which is a great start. Rather have actions than words to be honest and so far, so good. Interesting to see who gets the gig now, but hope it’s soon so they have a say in the playing squad. Assuming we work like that of course and the head boy has an input.

No comment on relegation or informing fans of their plan to put things right. Just a 'Morais has gone and we will say more later' post

Gauthier Ganaye gave an interview to both Radio Sheffield and TV media.

Should be on the official site imo.

Official statement to the official site, then questions from the press, that's how it usually works. At clubs like Man Utd and Chelsea as well as Barnsley.

I thought the dismissal of Morais was decisive.
However - I’m still not sure about Ganaye.
The interviewer on Radio Sheffield got it spot on after the Derby match - he implied a few times that Ganaye had to take responsibility for relegation with regard to low recruitment of players and appointment of the manager.

But to be fair - we don’t know exactly how much power Ganaye has actually got at the club.
If he was more or less responsible for recruitment of players and the Morais appointment then he wouldn’t be at the club for long if it was my decision.

We know Ben Mansford went to Leeds for more money - but as the CEO he was a breath of fresh air at Oakwell - and I would love to see him back - or someone with that chatty friendly open appeal.

Regarding manager appointment - I’m hoping James Cryne can resurrect how the club appointed managers in the past.
If that’s an English manager then so be it.
I for one would welcome Hecky back.
Give Hecky a level playing field with regard to funding to bring players in and he’d get us into the Premiership.

If the board recruit an English manager (which I’m not expecting) they can always recruit a retired well known continental player to represent the club - to provide the club with that ‘wider international appeal’ that the directors are looking for.

Is that how it usually works when relegated though.?

I've listened to his interview and he says absolutely nothing. He's disappointed we went down and that's it really for 6 minutes.
If there is a plan in place for league one then what is it? He's supposed to be trying to sell season tickets still. It just seems like, as usual, the bare minimum has been given

"Roll up, roll up, buy your season tickets here! Like what you've seen today? Get a whole years worth for just £400!"

There's lots you can criticise the club for. I haven't even had a letter or an email to say that Season Tickets are on sale yet and the deadline for the early bird is long past. But I don't think they did anything wrong yesterday. The dismissal of Jose was fast and decisive. An official statement was put on the official website within an hour of the match ending and then Ganaye took questions from the press. Pretty sure that him using that interview to try to flog season tickets after we've just been stuffed 4-1 and relegated would have been met with the kind of disdain it deserved.

I don't mean a sales pitch but considering 'the plan' has just seen us relegated it would be nice for him to have said that the plan has been binned

'The plan' only exists in the minds of people who use this BBS.

There needs to be a full inquest into what happened this season. That would need some patience and time taken to look at all aspects of how the club is run. Then they can come out and tell us, at least on one level, what happened.

Nothing which is a shame. Hearing from one of our owners would have meant much more. Knowing how they feel about yesterday, what they plan to do this summer and why people will pay over the odds for a season pass in the next three months.

I don't know, did he use those words?

I remember him speaking about finding different ways to identify players, looking for young, talented and ambitious players, but I don't think anyone has a problem with that. What people don't seem to like, myself included, is how eager we were to sell at the first opportunity, how we failed to secure talented players to longer contracts and how we solely relied on young untried players rather than having a mix of youth and experience. I don't remember that being announced as part of some 'plan'. It's what happened, but it's not a plan we'd been sold by the club as far as I remember.

Yep, also reiterated that the owners saw this as a long term project.
