Boring manager but he wins games. He’ll have us playing 5 3 2, we’ll concede 15 goals all season and win the vast majority of games 1 or 2-0. If we want success but **** football then he’s the one to go. This time next season we will have won league 1 and a year on from then we will be comfortably mid table in the championship, but we will be playing scummy, boring football. I guess the only question is: Is it worth it??
God no! Bradford fans seriously rejoicing today. BTW sorry for my Estrella-induced incoherent rant on another post sunday
Just had a quick trawl through his wiki page. I only skimmed it but it looks like he's had four promotions and a play off semi. Don't know much about his style of footy or whether I want him but that's a record that is exponentially better than Mr Morais' was when we appointed him.
By the sound of it, he wanted a reasonable transfer budget and they totally shut him down- surely we could offer a decent budget for him?
The thing with managers is there's a lot that get lucky as a once off. Drop on the right bunch of players at the right time. But they can't repeat it. I'd argue that Keith Hill didn't fit that as he'd overachieved at Rochdale for quite a while and rebuilt and still been successful. Hecky....jury is out. Maybe he was a one hit wonder with a special group of players. There's no one out there with a long unblemished record we can get hold of as far as I'm aware. Again, I'm not saying I want Grayson but he's had promotions at four separate clubs. Can't really argue with that.
When I first saw that he’d left Bradford he was 20/1 for us and I was a bit tempted, now he’s only 4/1 so I’m guessing some people have lumped on? His win percentages at his last 2 club’s isn’t great reading (although does Sunderland really count?) but he does have a decent record in league 1.
