That would be some appointment. It'd be a real magnet in terms of attracting players to the club. Even Football focus would turn up before we'd kicked a ball. As was said earlier, a bit of an Allan Clarke effect. With the exception that Frank has a higher IQ than Carol Vordermann, which Allan probably didn't have.
Apparantly his wife is good friends with Grace Hung, he was mentioned before because he was out of work and his wife wanted him out from under her feet. Make of that what you will.
I honestly think if there was an approach for Chris Wilder and he looked at what the owners could offer him then he would join us. He would be a great appointment. He gets promotions - plus - and it’s a massive plus - he plays very attractive football to get those promotions. He was just a couple of quality players away from getting Sheffield into the play offs - and if they would have got there they probably would have won it. He knows now that United haven’t got any money. And he’s more or less said his job there is done if a new owner can’t be found this summer. But like I said previously - I think the appointment will be from the continent.
Not sure if it would be a popular choice but I’ve always rated Alexander both as a player and manager. Was extremely unlucky to be sacked at Scunny. Won’t be headlines enough for most I suppose but seems like a football man and will hit the ground running (in my humble opinion)
I'd definitely be happy with Alexander based on his past record. I'm not really sure what style of football he plays, but on paper he looks good and his sacking at Scunny seemed ridiculously harsh. A few people have mentioned Rosler, but his recent record is quite patchy. Not that I'd necessarily be against him.
Uwe Rosler. Attractive football, brings through youth and set in motion Brentford's promotion from league 1
Who ever it is they want to be in before the end of May, The new manager as to assess the players before we start kicking them out.
He'll get more air miles in than Judith Charmers if he's going to do that within the next six weeks or so. Pretty sure players don't tend to return til late June??
Players generally return 6-7 weeks before the first game of the season. So anywhere from June 11th onwards they’d be back so agree the new gaffer needs to be in by end of May.
He's the bookies favourite to take over at Sunderland so obviously not out of our league. And it would be funny listening to the 2 hour special on radio Dee Darr
