Both Sunderland and Wolves started cost cutting when he was there.

Of what possible relevance is the fact that he's a Leeds fan? If, indeed he still is.

Didn’t he sign a 4 year deal yesterday?

Although I suppose given what Hecky did....

Looks very much as though our new boss is going to be Simon Grayson. He's on the wanted list at Scunthorpe as well.
QPR are looking likely to part company with Holloway and bring Steve McClaren in as his
    replacement.

It wasn’t dull in the championship, only when they went up did he start playing more attritional football to try & keep them there

Just a hunch really. My reasoning is that you don't leave a job at one Club, if you haven't already got a job lined up elsewhere. Coincidentally, there's an article I've just spotted in today's Mirror. We know it's only paper talk, but for what it's worth here's what it says.
"Simon Grayson is set to make a return to management -with either Barnsley or Scunthorpe United. Grayson 48, heads the wish list of both clubs after quitting as boss of Bradford City.
The Tykes are targeting a quick return to the Championship after being relegated at Derby on Sunday and want Grayson at the helm. The ex-Sunderland chief already has four promotions from League One on his CV, when he managed Blackpool, Leeds, Huddersfield and Preston North End."

Again, I'm not red hot on the idea of Grayson but from the standpoint of cold hard practicality...you can't fluke four promotions. There's no certainties in football, especially appointing managers but he'd be a good percentage bet.

Whoever we appoint is not coming in to win a popularity contest, he'll be appointed because the
Board genuinely feel he can steer us into the Championship. I've been having a closer look at
Simon Graysons profile. He's 48 year old and was born in Ripon North Yorkshire.
He had an 18 year professional career and was on the books of Leeds United, Aston Villa, Blackburn
Rovers and Blackburn. During that period, he also had loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Stockport County, Notts County and Bradford City. He's managed six Clubs. He spent three years at Blackpool and left of his own accord to join Leeds where he stayed for
four seasons when he was sacked. He then went to Huddersfield, before joining Preston. He spent four seasons there before resigning to take the job at Sunderland. He lasted 5 months at the Stadium of Light before being relieved of his duties but was snapped up as the new manager of Bradford City following Stuart McCalls sacking. As we know, he spent 4 months there before resigning.
His managerial stats show he's had 648 league games of which he's won 271, Drawn 192 and lost185 and therefore his win rate percentage is 41.8%. In other words out of a total of 1944 points he got 1005 and lost 939. If he got 41.8% available, in any season that would equate to circa 58 points which would mean safety. The only downside to Grayson is he's a self professed Leeds fan,but if we could get the necessary quality in, to add to what we've already got, I'd certainly back him to do a good job for us.

Stuart Gray. Intelligent footballer. Think he is at Fulham? Don't know if he would come up north though.

Here's a scenario for you. Club X ask for permission to speak to your manager, who is under contract. You say "we would be within our rights to withhold permission, but sign this new deal with a £ X release clause and we will give them permission." Far fetched?

Sounds like Sunderland are after him.
If the fake sheikh doesn’t take over this summer- and it’s not looking like he will - then Wilder is likely to leave this summer.
He’s the best English manager with a sound record as a manager that Barnsley could get.

But as I’ve said previously - I’d be very surprised if the next manager is British.
Although it could be a well known continental manager that has managed in England.
I think the link to the continent is important for the board.
    We’ll see.

Agree with director of football to take some pressure off manager and allow them to concentrate on identifying player targets and coaching playing staff and sorting tactics
