Usually the media is awash with stories as a club approaches different managers to talk to them. But not this time. I’m guessing that’s because the search isn’t in this country. I’d be very surprised if the new manager is based in the UK. So I wouldn’t be betting on anyone that is well known.
I fear that you're right Nudger. And to be fair, some of the British names I've seen batted about are ridiculous. Managers like McCarthy and Wilder aren't going to see us as an attractive prospect. We could do with a similar appointment to when we got Lee Johnson, someone who has done well but gone relatively unnoticed.
I think the search will be firmly in this country this time following the massive success of the Morais tenure.
Things will be quiet because we probably want Paul Warne, so now Shrewsbury have reached the play off final, it's delayed things for us. If Charlton had got through yesterday I reckon today would have had more media speculation.
I think Paul Hurst will be eyeing bigger clubs than us if he moves from Shrewsbury. And if he goes up he might fancy having a punt with them for the season. British-based manager only for me this time - that could include Rosler, but we have no time to start mucking around with left field appointments. Seems to me Mark Warburton is an obvious choice - worked with kids at Forest and had them looking good. If Ross doesn't end up at Ipswich, he might feel unsettled enough to reconsider Oakwell now that the bad news (relegation) has been priced in. He'll face a struggle in the SPL and an exit should always be timed before a fall (learnt that from Hecky).
Give it to Hassle & Devaney , they no what it takes to get promoted from this division with us , they are young , hungry & lets face it , if we want to get promoted we have to do it from within , its the only thing that works for us
I think now is a good time for him to move to England, but he could probably get a Championship job if he did want to move.
I saw an article posted a few days ago that he has been linked to vacant Swansea job but he played it down saying he was happy in Sweden. With how well he has done over there with such a small club to then win them a trophy, numerous promotions and even get them into Europe I think he could easily get himself a good championship job if not a lower Premier league job.
