I've been to 45 league games this season gone. I've seen some real crap. Games like Middlesbrough and Reading away when we didn't wake up until the game was long lost. I've seen games when we barely had a shot on target in 90 minutes. I've also seen games when we played really well like Norwich and wolves away and managed a solitary point from the two games. Bringing Matt Mills in as a stop gap because we had injuries in central defence is nothing to what the previous board did. Look at what we had, and look at what we replaced it with before you start belly aching about the current incumbents. We haven't been good enough all season, and deserved exactly what we got.
Productive? Pinillos: How is he a footballer? Knasmullner: Hardly had a kick Mills: Awful Mahoney: Did OK in one game. Only Kieffer Moore was a productive signing when you consider McBurnie should have been here anyway. Not to mention we lost our best player Harvey Barnes!
You’re criticising with the benefit of hindsight. Mills replaced MacDonald who wasn’t playing and added to Lindsay, Jackson and Pinnock in that position. Knasmüllner’s record from midfield for Admira was exceptional, he was well worth a punt. Granted it didn’t pay off but again you’re looking at it after the event. We’ll comfortably recoup the initial outlay. Barnes, Leicester recalled him. Mahoney was a direct replacement and one that we had attempted to sign previously albeit on a permanent basis prior to his move to Bournemouth. Pinillos - Very highly rated at Forest and by Forest fans. He left after they didn’t offer him a 3 year deal. Excellent free transfer on paper. I can’t recall you ripping these signings to shreds in January so you’ll have to send me a link to those comments.
the only difference is we are tied down with a serious load of deadwood. Potts, Fryers, Pinillos, Pearson, Lindsay, Davies, Isgrove (too injury prone), Thiam. That is 8 players on long contracts who we need to get rid of. I would rather have 8 players less to be honest. p.s Garry Monk wasn't such a gamble for Birmingham
We needed a decent replacement for McDonald. Knasmullner was never given a chance which is crazy because as you say he had a great record in Austria. Mahoney was never given a run of games really. With Pinillos you'd have thought our scouts would have realized he can't tackle, intercept or mark before we tied him down on a 3 year deal. The window was a resounding failure caused by lack of investment.
We will simply have to see. No one knows if they'll produce in league one or not. You have to give them a clean slate and get behind them, otherwise what's the point?
Don't know how true it is but apparently jason McCarthy and hedges told fans at derby Bradshaw wants to stay for next season.
The plan hasn't been a complete failure. It's brought us in lots of money. Granted we've suffered because we've used it in isolation, but we've only been relegated, not gone bust.
So after weeks of coming on a rant about Hecky every time we lost he left and you seemed to stop posting at all. Now you are back and the target is the owners? Well played you are getting the attention you obviously crave.
Ah, but where’s that money now? The cynic in me has it back in the cryne family coffers cos it’s clearly not been invested back into the squad in any great way hence the dross signed that’s sent us down.
Mr Cuckoo land, I will ask you again about Bradshaw, I have read the club statement regarding the retained list & I can not see any reference to what you said
