Personally I think we should sign some players who have been released from championship clubs. For example Luke Steele would be a great signing and he could teach Walton a lot and knows the club very well, also Romario vieira from Leeds. He played for the u23's and was apparently unlucky not to be playing more regularly. The only reason he wasn't because they have ex Barcelona players in the same position who are regarded better players. Maybe worth a year contract to see what he's like?
And tbf looking through their academy players I'm not surprised he's been released. Looking at the players they've signed players from deportivo, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Ajax, feyenoord, benfica etc. I can't stand Leeds but my mates support them and they all rave about these players so I'm a bit jealous they can get these kind of players tbh.
We’ve had plenty of players in our youth set up from Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Sporting Lisbon, Benfica etc. The turnover of players at the big clubs is unbelievable. Ronaldo Vieira is a defensive midfielder as well, is he not? I wouldn’t be ecstatic at signing his twin who doesn’t even feature in the U23s on the regular.
he isn't awful from what my mates say, but yes his brother Ronaldo has been in the first team for 3 seasons now And he's only 19.
If he's anything like his brother (Ronaldo) then he might be worth a punt. Watching us when we played Leeds he bossed the midfield and he was only 18/19, so if he can do it like his brother then why not
There’s obviously no guarantee that he can though. Haven’t we just offered new terms to one brother whilst releasing another in our U18/23s? Even in League 1 I’d be looking a lot higher than a player who doesn’t command a place in Leeds U23s. Granted he may be worth a trial for our U23s but that’s a completely different kettle of fish.
Saw him play for Leeds under 23 v Barnsley under 23 ,terrible attitude ,deserved sending off our under 23 lads were too good for him
I would love to have Ronaldo vieira in our team he's a really good young player and has so much potential, so I'm sorry mate I disagree with you there. Hes such a young player and can boss a midfield, he's strong athletic something we lack
Aye and probably the same ones that told me we'd signed a good un when we took Mowatt off their hands.
Two ex players from Bristol City that catch my eye are Luke Steel & one that I do not think anyone has mentioned , Scott Goldbourne , who I think would be ideal for an assault division one
