Of the ones who have been put forward only Paul Hurst and Ainsworth would seem to be anything more than interesting. If we can’t attract either I’d have Hecky back. No point cutting off your nose and all that ********.
Wow... as if you actually believe that. Honestly if you think he was in any way responsible for our JPT and play offs wins in 2016 then you must be sniffing some serious industrial strength Bostik. Come on nar Nudger, I always found you more intelligent than that lad. LJ already had that team on the turnaround and they could have managed themselves and of course let’s not forget that he has since bombed with both us and Weeds which highlights exactly how poor of a manager he really is.
Not for me, nah. He got far more slack than was justifiable first time around because he was "one of our own". It was bordering on a capital offence to dare to criticise him in any way on here. He was on the verge of the sack in my opinion and it suited both parties that he left. On that basis, why would we have him back.
With one of the best sides ever to play in league one who he took over after 7 win on the bounce under lee Jay he didn't need to change a thing.
Not many expected us to go up. He did do well don't get me wrong but like I say we had put together a great squad and were on a great run full of confidence. The jury is still out for him jimmy Floyd got Burton promoted from league 2 and then were top of league one before QPR took him half way through the season. What' he upto now? Wouldn't want him here.
To be fair to Hecky, the fact that he didn't change a thing should earn him some credit, because I don't believe that Johnson would have been able to resist chopping and changing, and I don't think we would have been promoted had he done so. Having said that, I don't rate Hecky now and haven't for quite some time. He just became a right moaning sod, turning the fans against the board because he knew he could do no wrong being "one of our own". He was exposed when his best players left, and now struggles to get results with a more expensively assembled squad at Leeds, which at one point was in the top 6.
