They're here to get us into the Premier League aren't they? They won't publicly say it but why else would a Chinese and Indian multi-billionaire get involved with us? We aren't going to make much in the Championship or League 1.
Well that would be the obvious goal but they aren’t going to do it by splashing the cash. Natural growth using the data model and pocket some cash along the way. If they appoint Grant after Jose then I’d question their sanity.
I'd be chuffed with Hurst or Ainsworth and happy with Mccann. Out of interest who would you be happy with? Within the realms of reality of course
They need to have won a World Cup and the Champions League minimum. Be under the age of 40. Play football like the Dutch team of 1970’s. Being willing to work in League 1. And like living in Barnsley - preferably committing to a lifetime contract.
Someone to put bums on seats , someone to give the fans some excitement , someone to start the Oakwell revolution . The size of the club means we can only fish in certain pools . But , the major difference now is the club have very rich owners so maybe we can look a little above non league or league one/two failures . What wrong with giving Paul Scholes a go ? He threw his hat in the ring for the Oldham gig or Gary Neville ? Could you imagine the excitement such an appointment would create ? The media would be all over it meaning the club suddenly goes up a notch , which in turn makes it so much easier to market to the outside world which brings in more cash which means the budget gets bigger which means the calibre of player gets better the crowds flood back and we’re successful on and off the pitch . Easy peasy saint n greavsie
Paul Scholes has no managerial experience and comes across as very uninspiring on TV. He applied for Oldham because that's his club. And he didnt get it. With regards to Neville, he certainly knows his stuff, but has stated that he doesn't want to return to management in the near future. And his last job at valencia was a massive failure. I also doubt he'd give up the salary he earns at sky to manage a league one team. If we're talking ex man u players i could perhaps see the reasoning behind appointing someone like Nicky Butt. However, not even sure he would drop to league one at this stage of his coaching career.
Alan Clark Norman hunter viv Anderson and Danny Wilson ? All first time managers that had been big name players . I’m not arguing with anything you say as it’s all accurate but I just want to be able to dream . Bought my ST not knowing what league we’d be in ( although strongly suspected it would be the alehouse league) and I’d just like a summer of dreaming that my football club is going to give me an appointment to whet the appetite ! anyroad UTR
I guarantee if GN was appointed tomorrow there’d be a surge in ticket sales and a group orgasm on this forum . Nar then
You can't guarantee it. You simply don't know. Even if you are correct, he is still someone I would not like to see associated with us.
