Does anyone on here believe that the new owners will 'pump' any money to improve the squad & get us to push for promotion.

I know there's lots of talk of the sums of money, collectively, the new owners have, but i honestly do not think they will put anything in.

I struggle to see why they have bought us, what is the benefit to them, we surely have to be in the Premier League, or top half of the Championship, to attract the 'overseas' market & 'worldwide' opportunities they talked about when taking over & to increase revenue into the football club.

When a manager like McCann is announced, it will show we are a league 1 side, with league 1 ambitions & league 1 budgets.

The owners will never get anything from the club while we are in this league, it's all a bit strange........

If they were serious about their intentions they would give frank Lampard or john terry or that type of player the job which would generate season ticket sales and those players would attract players to us and provide the international exposure that they say we need.

No I don't expect them to "pump" any money in. I think anyone who does is going to be dissapointed.

A strange one , a fact of life and football , if you stand still you go backwards . They have to prime the pump to realise any returns . They’re not fly by nights who’ll be happy to make the odd few grand it doesn’t make sense . I do think we’ll move ground ( maybe onto the academy complex) and that will be part of the overall plan . They’ll have a medium and long term plan to make the club successful on and off the pitch . Surprised we haven’t been tipped to get a known name in as new coach so I guess we’ll see !

1.How do you know McCann will be announced?
    2. Spending a **** load of.money has no guarantee of success (see Aston villa and Wednesday)
    3. I don't think the owners will want us in this league for too long but any investment they will want back with interest most likely.

Investment in the academy, that will show us their ambition.

Why would they pump loads of money in when we've proved before we can get out of this division operating in our usual financial bracket? The time I expect them to start investing heavily is once we're back in the Championship

We don’t have any idea what is going on behind the scenes.
Season only finished yesterday with final game. Window already open but as you can see no activity across the board.
Window this year for full signings to August 9th then that’s it.
Gives us 12 weeks from start to finish and already a couple of weeks gone. Would like to think time been spent on targets and possible approaches to test the water.
Think new owners will concentrate on infrastructure making us more appealing matchday wise for purchases to increase revenue.
We have no idea cash flow wise where we are. I know we generated some money but would have thought most of this taken up with paying everything off to make us even.
Patrick was subbing the club to keep us afloat and this is the investment the new owners will have taken up.
Agree that academy will be a focus and they’ll invest just enough to strengthen the club to give us a fighting chance to push for promotion.
No silly figures just areas identified for strengthening. This will be dependent on the new managers thoughts when he comes in.
Difference between league one and championship massive and the squad who almost kept us up last season should push the top 6 next season without adding. A few nice adds and top two a definite target.

I see Frank Lampard is being lined up for the Derby job but by & large a lot of these top players tend to look towards the media for work as opposed to coaching . These are extremely wealthy players & unlike the days of Alan Clarke when the top players stopped playing they still needed to be employed , where as today it tends to be the players from the lower leagues what look to stay in the game & take their coaching badges , hence the likes of Hurst , Macan , Warne , Lee Johnson etc are tending to make their way up the coaching ladder . Everyone seems to want a marquis name to take the helm but I honestly do not see many of these wanting to risk their reputations & take a punt in the lower leagues & its not a case of club not wanting a big name its a case of availability & I do not think the big names are there as much as people think
