    I remember that game so well.We had a promotion party at The Rising Sun up Sheffield Road our guest of honour that day was Chris Jackson and his parents.When Hopkins scored I was outside making burgers.The volume of noise told me all I needed to know.Happy days.

    Yeah very similar managerial record so far, arguably had a better playing career aswel not that makes much difference apart from maybe contacts in the game. Id be happy to give him a chance.

    Why? Because I don't rate the Scottish Championship? I watched a few of the play off games and the end of the season - inlcuding both Dundee Utd games - and I wasn't impressed. I reckon Dumbarton would struggle in the Conference North. That's who Hopkin has been competing against.

    But what more can the man do? He took Livi up through the play offs. His managerial knowledge andtactical awareness got them there. He could do no more.
    And you write him off before he has even entered the building. Hopkin looks to have what it takes.

    He can't do anything more at the moment. Other than get a job at higher level and continue to work his way up. I just think that the gap from the Scottish Championship to League One is too big. Just my opinion.

    Yep. I'll bet it is though.

    In that league 20% of teams are part time and get crowds of less than 900. It's a completely different level to League One.

    And he got his team promoted with playing decent football. Since when did crowd sizes dictate the ability of a manager. Isn't this what the thread is all about? Sir Alex did alright at East Stirling.
