He's got what he deserves, he can stay in the managerial wilderness for an eternity as far as I'm concerned.
Great post and I echo all those points. It’s not that the man went to Leeds, it’s the manner on which he did so that made my piss itch as in dragging us down and then he’s seen laughing his head off after jumping ship fully aware of the situation he left us in after we stood by him and his abysmal record. Karma is a bitch.
I would have him back but would he want to come back. I suspect that he will become a journey man manager in the lower leagues now. His record in the championship is not that great is it?
He was taking us down this season so I was glad when Leeds signed him, but who we appointed and what happened after that is another thing altogether. He knew what he was taking on there, and that the chairman & fans wouldn't be anywhere near as lenient with him as ours were. I sure as hell don't feel sorry for him and I don't want him back at our club ever again.
The The Hourihane team was bottom of L1 under Lee ‘the charlatan’ Johnson and managed to lose to Non league Altrincham. You are just bitter. Not that I want him back especially but nest not to let hatred blind you.
They’re probably thinking the same as Hecky, ‘nice pay off, summer off, reputation’s intact, back in a job by Autumn’
I would have him back just to prove a few folk on here wrong. Some think he is the next Alex Ferguson when in reality he is more like Mike Bassett. Jimmy Floyd would of took Burton on back to back promotions from league 2 on a shoe string budget if he hadn't been poached by QPR when Burton were top and flying where is he now?? Playing golf after failing at 2 successive clubs hecky will be teeing off with him monday after they go sign on.
I can’t really knock him. Overachieved all 3 seasons in charge of us. Now gets a big pay off from Leeds & will get another job in the next few months as Leeds are a basket case of a club & getting sacked from there does no harm to your reputation.
Hopefully he's made a few bob out of it. Hell will be freezing over before I welcome him back here. You live by your decisions in life. Signing a new contract & exercising a release clause 2 days later & dropping your home town club (something you have played up to massively) further into the doo dah. Sorry. Take a holiday Hecky & get a job somewhere outside Yorkshire would be my advice. You are no longer one of our own.
Exeter job is available. Great opportunity for him there. He can live by the seaside and coast along keeping them in the football league. That will do them. He'll be a hero
I've read all imput and tha knows HECKY's still a good option, he's yung, lerning, med misteks, but as long as he's lurnt, then give him anufer chance. WATHRED's, said it all gud post lad. HECKY wint be first manager to av a second cumin. RED ARMY
Thats exactly what I posted on here recently, about hell freezing over before Id welcome Hecky back here. Yes it sounds like we're all being a bit harsh on him but its only to be expected. He made a bad choice as it turned out, I wonder how much of it he regrets now.
I was angry and felt very let down when Hecky left in the manner that he did, that disappointment compounded by the crazy appointment of Morais. But deep down I could understand why a man would leave for a better paid job and what appeared to be a step up the managerial ladder, notwithstanding the obvious risks. I take no pleasure in his demise and upon mature reflection I would be prepared to have him back with a clean slate on the basis that he represents our best chance of an immediate return to the Championship. I utterly reject the nonsense spouted about the promotion side running itself but do agree with the Tommy Wright point and would therefore seek to re-unite the pair. Forgiveness is a wonderful quality, second chances often bringing rewards a la Adam Hammill second coming. Whatever happens I wish him and his family well.
Very well put. I was also gutted and the betrayal feeling was immense. Like you with reflection,he was doing his best and trying to achieve for himself and family , he took a chance . Welcome back Paul.Clean slate. Let’s get back to the championship. He supports us he played for us just like Adam Hammill did. It probably won’t happen but I would welcome him back.Just like we did with Danny ...
