I know there's a few who have mentioned it but I can't remember who so apologies but if anyone is would they mind if I send them a private message to ask a few questions
Yes you can use it as an excuse to be annoying on forums. Depends what the questions are but you can PM me if you want although I've not mentioned it on here so you're probably talking about someone else.
my son has autism. hes 12. hes at greenacre school. more than happy to help with any questions you may have. me and my wife have asked loads of questions and still have many more unanswered. you learn through asking them and personal experiences also. Its tough, but not as tough as it is for my son. But you manage, you have to. good luck
I have had a lot of training about autism and worked closely with children who are on the spectrum. I've never had a diagnosis for myself as I don't see the need for one either way but I definitely have a lot of the traits. There's a free 2 hour training module currently available to all about autism in women and girls from the National Autistic Society here: http://www.autism.org.uk/professionals/training-consultancy/online/women-and-girls.aspx It's useful for providing a basic understanding of autism, has interviews from women and girls with autism and provides the strategies around diagnosis. The reason it focuses on mainly on women and girls is because all major studies in the past have been based solely on men and boys and the traits can often be missed in girls due to gender biases (attributed to shyness etc.) You also get a certified CPD certificate if that matter to you.
