Maybe they will surprise and impress you and are taking their time getting the right man. Or they might do it on the cheap and appoint from within.
How do we know that is true... all you have is wall of silence, it may mean that or it may mean all our eggs went in the Paul Hurst basket and there's not been a plan B.. I think that's one difference/problem we have... I have doubts than folk running the club are better qualified than some (not all ) on here... Some I wouldn't trust to look after a goldfish.. But some on here are actually smarter than the average bear.. Lets just see who comes through the door..
Id say with the time its taken, whoever it is .. will be probably 147th choice. If I'm impressed I will say so... but if I'm not, I will also say so..
As will I. I think most would claim to be unimpressed if we brought Zidane in. It's been open season on the new owners since day one.
I take it that when you say awful choice, you mean by your opinion & not factual . Why people are judgemental to the point of being insultive , always puzzles me
Some of you got little stirrings in the front of your Y fronts with the last coach appointment.. Just by the mere mention of Mourinho, Real Madrid and Milan.. So some of us didn't We wanted to ask question and scrutinise the CV of this great Portuguese marvel.. History as proved some right and others wrong... but to be fair it wasn't too long before most had sussed out this chancer.. Now to answer your reply... Whoever set this chancer on are obviously inept or easily fooled. Even to the extreme that it cost us/them relegation.. They may well know a thousand and one things about other business's, But on this one, the only one I concern myself with, They have fallen mightily short... I await their new choice..
Management choices succeed and fail at every club. Even successful ones - Moyes at Utd, Liverpool had Hodgson, Spurs Avb. Majority of coaches are a gamble again Don't mind nationality in slightest as long as they do job properly
Nationality.. is not the issue, what is, is they have not coached lower league in England.. Jose seemed a very nice chap, but totally the wrong person for us
I agree, whilst were flouncing around taking ages to appoint either somebody in work in this country or somebody whos failed somewhere else or a 'thinkin outside the box' foriegn coach/manager, you have Gary Bowyer, a manager that has done wonders in the worst circumstances probably possible as a manager and is out of contract. Its barmy, were trying to be too cute and clever. This appointment would be a minimal risk situation and with the squad we already have, I think he would do quite well. He would live the facilities we have and the potential backing financially for this division he would get. Seems an abslotute no brainer for me. Cant begin to understand why you would even contemplate McCann when this blokes available. O.K. he may not want the head coach situation but at least ask like. This appointment aint rocket science, far too many good names attainable. Wouldnt surprise me if were just penny pinching and saving on wages for a few week, taking into account the shambles weve seen thus far with the new regime. Come on for gods sake, 4 weeks to pre season.
I don't get this fad... must be foreign or if not young.. Why do people need to reinvent the wheel... Keep it out at one end, stick it in at the other.. Look at the job Roy Hodgson's done at Palace. Nobody wanted him, especially the Place fans... He as something a lot of people seem to fear these days ... something called experience.. Experience is very hard to manipulate.. where youth is easy.. Plus you pay for experience..
There many absolutely appalling managers who’ve dined out on ‘experience’ for years as well. It’s not reinventing the wheel to simply select the most suitable candidate. I don’t get the fad that it has to be someone who has experience either. It’s horses for courses.
Agree our main-top-only priority should be promotion back to the championship... then stabilise. That's it simple. All we need to do is attract someone with experience at this level and higher, who improves our chances... We don't need a coach to bring the kids through/ great with youth.. theirs plenty down at Oakwell walking round in tracksuits that can do that job.. First team experience and success at this level .. good contacts for loans.. a motivator who's head does not drop when the **** comes.. and it will over 46 games..
How is that a fad.. it is actually a fact of life.. Or it is if you want your company or country to be successful. Youth learns from experience.. Nobody born doing anything, things most be learnt. And by someone who can already do the said thing
