Well I still maintain that he would be a great asset. 13 years experience in Leagues 1 & 2 is an asset. His great leadership skills especially in our squad would be an asset. 37 goals in 88 games for Northampton then again 34 goals in 80 games for Northampton, 29 goals in 84 for Wycombe, 21 in 80 for Gillingham, 4 in 9 for Doncaster, 14 in 37 for Torquay when they were League 1: a consistent knack of scoring at our sort of level that is an asset. His heading ability is an asset. His ability to hold up the ball is an asset. His threat from set-pieces and balls in the box both offensively and defensively is an asset. Imagine we are only drawing 0-0 away at Luton on a cold rainy tuesday night. We need a saviour. It is not the player with yellow boots, exotic name & pony tail I'd be looking at nor the kid who can do a few keepy- uppies in youth football. It is the big character who has the know how in these sort of situations. Folk call him fat well they are completely wrong he's just so heavily built because he pounds the weights a huge amount of time more than your average footballer. Personally I'd rather have someone of his ilk than some random French player with a nice youtube video just look at how that worked out with Thiam! £1M for that mess a huge huge waste we could have spent on a guy with English league experience.
Okay. I'll keep ridiculing it. Ahahahahahahahahahahaha. Ahahahahahahaha. Haha. Akinfenwa? The one who was **** in 2006? Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Etc.
I would rather us sign the real beast, Jon Parkin. Akinfenwa is just the soppy southern equivalent! On a serious note though I recommend people giving Parkin’s Undr The Cosh podcast a listen. Has me crying with laughter most Sundays. He’s a proper honest and down to earth lad, plus he’s Tarn through and through.
