    Clubs like Villa won’t go to the wall choose how much they are in debt .
    There’s too much money to be made in future with the brand .
    The fiasco with rangers is testament to that , they may try to be seen to be tough but future money talks

    Another example to all as to why throwing money at it doesn't always work.

    Let this be a good lesson to those that want our owners to go big and sign loads of players without building up our income levels first

    Yes. And some one here said we should of matched the 27k a week villa offered to pay conor....

    And its examples like this that show why we cannot do that. Those people on here that keep moaning that we are not spending even though our owners are very rich need to spend plenty of time looking at this Villa situation and then they might realise why our owners are taking a cautious approach

    I would take the Rangers situation happening with Villa. Be good for non league teams to play Newco Aston at Villa Park in a league game, as the newly founded club tries to make their way back up the leagues.

    Until that happens to a big club with a big history, clubs won't learn.

    -They are a very extreme case for that level of football in terms of spending
    -Literally nothing except a bit of press has happened to them yet, judging by every other time things like this have happened nothing will

    Haha puts things into perspective doesn't it? I have sympathy for the fans as this could happen to any club taken over, including ours.

    I'm just glad Chien and co don't appear to be resorting to these high stakes tactics of promotion or bust.
