Isn’t that what Lee Johnson wanted us to do where the aim was to get the ball back within 6 seconds of losing possession or something? I’m sure that was in his PowerPoint.

Got to have very fit players which is why it takes time to implement, like Wagner at Huddersfield. I've got as far as Izgrove and Bradshaw in the current squad - can anyone help with others? Like what he has had to say and you can see what the interview process was based on but management / coaching to me is about getting the best out of the resources you have and adopting a style that suits. Hecky tried, as did Morais, to get players to do jobs they couldn't do, which is why there were so many changes in formation / personnel. Given time it could work but will it be given time....that's my worry especially as the stated aim is automatic promotion (rightly so)

Jason McCarthy will do fine with this. Last season I am sure he topped the charts in pre season for fitness.

Agree that under LJ & Hecky in our promotion season this was the type of play we aimed at.

The season gone very few of the players were fit enough to do it & we opted to drop deeper.

Will mean a whole bunch of players needing to up their game fitness wise, or pack up & get out. At least we have a preseason for this.
Can't see Mallan, Moncur or Thiam making the cut.

That’s what brought us the success second half of promotion season.
Teams couldn’t live with us once we’d sold it to the players and they’d bought in . Caused some concern before they did but once they’d grasped it there was no one in league one capable of stopping us. We made the Champions look second rate and blew Crewe and Millwall out of the stadiums.
Took it into first half of Championship season but alas you know the story .

It states that blocking the centre of the field is important for a successful implementation, so is this why we bought so many of the same midfielders?:)

Exactly marlon. That second half at Wigan the Latics were disappearing up their own exhaust pipes. They didn't get a minute's peace anywhere on the pitch and got blown away. Magnificent display by us.

1-9-1. Sweeper and rush goalie. Pinnock smacks it, Kieffer Moore nods it down and then all our number 10s descend on the opposition's penalty area like a horde of barbarians.

We didn’t have the players that could do it in promo season , jonjo had to convert them hence the bad first half of season

New on here so go easy my first post. I Only managed to attend a few matches this season, but the main thing I noticed was the lack of fitness overall. Reading the new coaches philosophy I'm positive this is a good appointment.
