Have they ever said that selling when the money is right regardless of the effect it has on the squad is a plan that's been dropped or are you just guessing?

I'm guessing just the same as you. Do you actually think they're going to advertise to other clubs what our selling policy is going to be ahead of time.
I'll give you one clue though. Barnsley, just the same as every single club in the world, will sell players if the price is right. They've done it for 130 years. I think you'll be disappointed if you expect us to change,

Seems a reasonable interview to me, not sure what else he could say. I'd like him to do these more often, even if there's nothing much more to add, just because I believe keeping in contact with supporters helps people feel involved and well informed. Football clubs owe their existence to the loyalty of supporters and little things like this help reinforce that, make fans feel valued.
Answers a number of questions that have been asked on here, some that have been debated for a long time.
The manager/head coach doesn't identify the players, the recruitment team do. The players were identified when we didn't even have a manager, so there's no argument anymore. It's not how I'd like to see us do it, but it's the route we've gone down. So, we can't blame the manager if the players we sign aren't up to it, at least we know that.
And they identified the new head coach and went after him rather than wait to see who applied. I think that's what we should do.

But the club had the option to extend his contract. Ultimately it has to be them who made the decision not to (unless Hecky lied)

Obvious from the interviews, better offers elsewhere than a league 1 club.

I think that's the key thing to take from the interview. The manager doesn't identify the players, somebody else at the club does. Argument put to bed methinks

Based on the players performances last season I don't think many of them are currently good enough to be playing above League One Level.

Maybe Rotherham to come in with a cheeky bid for Moore and you're probably right that Bradshaw has asked to go. The only other one is Jackson, but he missed a fair portion of the season through injury.

It's a decent enough interview, I'm not sure what else he could say at this point.

But it was always going to be criticised.

Well our new coach wouldn't have a clue who to identify on these shores anyway. Nor would his staff. So it's a good job somebody else has got the task.

No that's fair enough for me.As I've said before I was only quoting PH.If the players are good enough for the coach to work with I'll be happy.

Let’s hope this appointment works out or there’s going to be some massive questions asked about our board imagine talking about head hunting a manager that’s got no knowledge of English football never mind not much managerial experience like it’s a positive thing. Hope I’m proved wrong but this sounds like another disaster in the making.

Let's hope the recruitment guy has read the memo. We have been buying too many big units who are half fit. The pressing game needs a different sort of player.
