Sunderland and Hibs chasing Mallan at Barnsley. Could be loan or cheap buy. Jack Ross needs to raise funds. Lennon pushing Hibs for them.

Slap a 3 million price tag on him and push Sunderland even further towards liquidation.

Need to keep Stevie - he will be a major player for us this season - a quality player

We have no need to sell anyone, the only way anyone will leave Barnsley is if the player no longer wants to play for the club or we are offered a sum of money we can not refuse.

'the player no longer wants to play for the club'??!! What about his contract or do that only work in the player's favour?

Seeing as we seem unable to accept on sum of money the future looks rather bleak

No.... if the german coach wants to bring in new players to reinvent the wheel next season. Then we need to get rid of players.. our squad is way too big for L1 as it stands... And the catch 22 of that is, the players other clubs want are normally the ones you ought to keep. No one is going to take our dross off our hands..

It don't matter what his contract say's if he don't want to play for us he'll be on his bike, and if he wants to play for Barnsley he will.
The head coach will not want any one at the club who wants away and the supporters will not.

Player wants to leave it usually happens. Club wants player to leave and they hold on to their contract for as long as possible. Look at Jack Rodwell if he cared about playing football more than money he would have left Sunderland ages ago. The contract of a player is more in favour of a player than the club.

Happy to see him go if he wants out. Two coaches and neither used him. Not sure why we signed him tbh. Average laiker playing a poor league prior to joining us.

Two coaches? One of which got steadily worse and worse as his tenure went on and the other was simply guessing and using trial and error as a management technique

It makes me laugh a little this. Supporters have moaned that we've got an unbalanced squad with too many number 10's. We sell Knasmüllner and possibly Mallan (If rumours are to be belived) for a profit. Two guys that barely got a kick for whatever reason, in Mallans case, under two separate managers and our fans start casting really wild accusations of firesales or owners being tight fisted.

Even if Mallan is sold, we've still got too many number 10's and not enough ball winners/box to box midfielders. There will be more out than in I'm sure this summer, we just need quality rather than quantity!

How any Barnsley fan can form an opinion (negative or positive) based on what they’ve seen on him is unbelievable. The lad has hardly played for us. St.Mirren fans rated him highly other clubs are reportedly after him, he’s a Scottish under 21 International. Remember Hourihane and Scowen were highly rated by fans of their clubs before joining us. I believe we should keep him and continue to further develop him.
