No, I don't think anyone was directly linking the two incidents, but merely saying that the guy in the video has committed a crime & may be guilty of promoting violence, which could have rubbed off on the perpetrator of yesterday's crime.

Does anyone have the name of the man who died please? Feel free to PM if you don’t want to post it publicly. Thank you.
From what was said on the reports, looks like the police were having a bit of a hard time discovering his identity.
Sounds more like a fight between addicts than what has been said by the OP but we'll find out in time.
Its okay love. That blokes got an illness thats why youve got a punch in gob and your purse lifted. Its not his fault you see. Hes not very well. You can blame who and what you want but at the end of the day its no one elses fault but their own that theyve ended up where they are.
I can assure you that if you assessed people with drug and alcohol problems on a regular basis for a living you'd probably change your mind. People often resort to substance misuse to block out past trauma such as childhood sexual abuse... if youve been abused and neglected all your childhood, do you really reckon it's likely you're going to end up with a decent job and life skills to parent, survive etc? So who's fault is that??? Quite easy to look at everything in black and white but life isn't like that. People on the whole don't go down that route because they cant be arsed getting a job or "oooh this might be fun"... of course they'll be the exception but definitely not the rule.
Don’t tar everyone with the same brush? bit rich coming from someone who calls anyone that agrees with some of Tommy Robinson’s views as scum
Are we just on about the smackhead spiceheads who loiter in town. I've been to plenty of away games where 5 lads walk into a cubical and it sounds like they are using a Dyson in there. Who is to blame for their drug use? Barnsley fc for losing games? Margot Thatcher? The goverment? Been addicted to a drug is a illness (a self inflicted one) taking the stuff in the first place isn't.
People become rapists because of past sexual abuse. People become shoplifters because of poor upbringings. Same goes for general burglaries too. People become abusers, violent criminals and murderers because of their past. Should we excuse all crime because there is always a reason? Or is it just the drug users who get a free pass?
You can become addicted to a lot of unsavoury things but these people are called monsters and written off by society forever. Just because an addiction is to drugs its ruled as 'not their fault' .Sickening really that they are constantly given a free pass and told its OK. It's not OK, you can't get addicted to drugs without taking drugs and if people stopped condoning drug use and excusing it then imo there would be a hell of a lot less people taking drugs in the first placd
