My apologies, it was Telboyred who mentioned "key resources". One of the problems reading on mobile. Our previous governments, for better or worse, decided our economy was to be a tertiary (services) economy. We have very little primary (resources) operations left and our large secondary economy (manufacturing) is therefore dependent on imported resources. Given that our government are now going to remove the ability to sell services into the EU, then it leaves us heavily reliant on imports that will probably increase in costs due to currency depreciation and tariffs while making our exports less competitive (tariffs again). Alternatively we can remove tariffs on imports and make all our manufacturing industry (and farming) uncompetitive.
Sorry, I didn’t realise you were a pedant. Steph Peacock was not in the party voted for by the majority. I can do it phonetically if it helps you understand.
They arent a colony pal. Shame us up North don't get it that we are as well off as,or worse than most eastern and southern Europe countries.. whilst the English South is in the top 5 richest areas of the world. ... Check this
Not forgetting of course that in the 2015 General Election Ukip got more votes than the Scot Nats and Lib Dems combined yet won only 1 seat to their combined 64.
It really doesn't work like that, I think you need to go and do some more reading. Any country can veto any EU legislation.
Yep, completely agree. Don't think you'll find anyone on this board who's been more vociferous about electoral reform in this country. That's the real challenge to democracy we face.
Well every time try to disagree you accidentally post something which demonstrates how both the UK government and EU government are equally democratic and you had as much say in the personnel making up our cabinet as you did in the personnel making up the commission
May as well close this thread. When one side of an argument offers facts / evidence / stats to support their view and the other side offers abuse / emotion / nothing to back their views clearly creates a circle of dispair
Can't believe how many replies this thread has got!!!! The OP posted and has walked away to enjoy the carnage and you guys have well and truly taken the bait! It's a beautiful day, there's been some fantastic sport on, nobody is going to change their mind... enjoy the rest of the weekend
Quite possibly the funniest cut and paste ever..... you appear to have stopped at the bit where it says we decide. Yes we the British via our own elected government decide, I’m confused about the wearing purple for a laugh bit? this Tory government certainly isn’t anything to laugh about!!
