Ref changed his mind when it wasn't a clear and obvious error. Ronaldo threw himself to the ground when he didn't get the penalty and the ref goes with the big name again
It's stupid, it causes things to get heated as we can see happening now. Normally when a ref makes a decision a player might grumble for second then accept the decision.
Don’t think it is by the laws of the game. The Pique challenge shows how VAR has issues. How is that not a red?
Now that WAS a clear red and just shows that they're picking and choosing when to use it. There's no logic behind it's use at all
2 challenges per team within 15 seconds of the incident. How can they look at those two feet off the ground and conclude its fine? Looks like a stitch up.
You can’t stick your leg out in the box and clearly trip somebody getting nowhere near the ball. He didn’t even have to force the contact it was unavoidable.
Right if they have VAR why the f hasn't that cheating ******* just been booked for diving? Hand catches him lower face he falls to floor clutching his nose and eyes. Right on camera, VAR officials all saw it, all 6 of them. No action taken. Completely illogical and random in its use. Needs to go completely
Doesn’t matter if your looking for a pen when somebody sticks his leg in your path. Looking for contact is different, Jamie Vardy is the expert and it’s disgusting.
If his hand has caught him in the face no matter how minimal the contact I don’t see a booking ever happening.
But it didn't catch him where he was holding it. It was simulation which is a yellow card. You can't hold one place and pretend you've been hit here when you haven't in an attempt to con the referee.
I’d have been disappointed it wasn’t given. Penalty, but immature challenge for me. Can’t stick Ronaldo though....
Nowt wrong with VAR per se, it's the humans in charge of using, abusing and ignoring it that are the problem for mine. Seems to be just providing more scope for the cheats charter followed by the big names in the knowledge that they have now not just the one chance to exploit refereeing inconsistencies and vagaries, but also a second and third, given the inconsistencies between the ref and the VAR team and the inconsistencies between different VAR teams.
