    Mmm... well if you read between the lines then you seem to discover:

    - he was at Bayern Munich but never did enough on the pitch for them that is worthy of sentence

    - he had no apparent other playing career of note, cos nothing is mentioned

    - he is not overly familiar with our new coach

    - they have never worked together before

    - he is essentially in a position of promotion as assistant coach, having never done it before

    - he speaks dodgy English

    - he is going to see if the players like what these Germans come up with, and if it "fits". He doesn't say what happens if they don't like it.

    If all the above constitutes "clever", then I wonder what a less encouraging release looks like.
