It's a hard call, if true. £2 million & a sell on would be good business, but we don't need to sell. Will depend on the player really I suspect & how Stendell sees him fitting into his playing style. I think he'd play that style well personally, he covered a lot of ground last season & his hold up play is excellent. Finishing is a bit less so, but he will always create chances.
He must read this board as our PNE poster has told us that a few weeks ago. Two million would be a poor amount for someone who's goals could get us promoted for a six million boost and who'd even then would have two years left on his contract to sell for even more in 12 months time, than what's being mentioned now.
I bought one of these at Christmas Paid £13-99 for it going on nixons reckoning it as to be worth £100 now surely Gumtree here i come
Thing is we know he can score goals at this level. I think it was 13 goals in 20 odd games for Rotherham last season before his move to us in January. Despite what the player wants he has a substantial contract with us and should be getting his head down fully focused on the seson ahead. I'd be looking to keep him if we have hopes of challenging for automatic promotion.
Wouldn’t sell KM for any price , he’s going to be invaluable next season . And if we get up he’ll also be championship ready !
Depends what KM and his agent wants. If he demands a move, then do we want someone who doesn’t want to be here? Despite the financial clout behind us, that’s not in the actual football club. So we can’t take the view of ‘refuse £2m and let him rot in the reserves’ approach. I think he’ll do a good job for us next season, and offers something that we don’t have in attack - physical presence. As someone else posted the other day, he did miss a lot of sitters last season, but that’s because he was always in the right place at the right time - so you will miss more than someone who is 10 yard off in the wrong position.
It depends on how ambitious the club is, do they keep KM and use his attributes and hopefully goals or do they cash in? If they sold him how much would a replacement cost and would they bring the same to the team. For me if they didn’t need to sell don’t and use him to fire them up the league
On the subject of Nixon, how many of you follow him? I find it bonkers how fragile his ego is, the slightest word against him or even not totally agreeing with every word he says results in a block.. Quite entertaining to watch.
If we could get a bit more, we could make a move for a marginally better striker like say Messi, although apparently he’s not a lot to get excited about about
We need to stop selling our players full stop , as poor as we were last season we were only minutes away from surviving & if we want to be serious about getting back, then three or four additions & the squad should be capable of mounting a challenge but the last thing we want is like last summer where 16 left & 16 came in & the rebuilding process starts once again
I think his misses were awful last season and each one seemed to get worse than the one before it. But hes certainly a worker and I think he could be massive for us in Lg One (quite literally!). Its an allegedly poorer/easier League than the Champship and he & Bradshaw could be an exciting partnership. We don't need to sell and while £2 mill is stupid of course, by todays ludicrous inflated transfer fees, its the least we should be holding out for.
