Halfwit But then you wanted me to say that didn’t you? Yes you’re a bad boy aren’t you Do you need a spanking?
Not aimlessly we need a player with exceptional ability from corners & free kicks and someone who can throw like Rory Delap. Mix that with at least four 6 ft4 muscular players we can break down any team.
Disagree. Let’s be right the club built a 2/3rds new squad full of kids with little or no championship experience & he had an injury ravaged squad August - January lacking in 2 key positions which he’d said for weeks we needed players in & was proven correct. Despite most people expecting us to go down he had us outside the bottom 3. The big problem came post January when despite quality hold up play & a quality goal scorer the team completely lost its shape & organisation & instead of improving due to having better players we stagnated or probably got even worse. They won’t get mullered every week. I’m not acting like League One is amateur but it’s certainly weaker than the championship. It’s a big step up, Hammill for example tore league one to shreds but hasn’t had anywhere near the same impact this time round in the championship. Transfer dealings under a previous ownership are completely irrelevant. We’ll have built a squad last season on a championship budget, from what you hear relegation costs about £6m a year & we have to abide by FFP so there’s got to be some balancing of the books.
The real truth is that the younger generations have some ambition because we are not bogged down in this little old Barnsley mentality.[/QUOTE] The real truth is that you believe in fairies and will most probably be sadly disappointed.
Yet again a grasp of common sense, reality and financial prudence is dismissed as lack of ambition. If the club were run by some of the supporters on here who shout their mouths off safe in the knowledge they'll never have to actually back up their rubbish it would have ceased to exist long ago. Cold hard facts and 130 years of history are rewritten as irrelevant in their constant temper tantrum that we can't be a top club right this very instant. Yet another "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME" thread.
Tend to agree with this sensible analysis, as long as the forward and winger bring some pace, which is lacking at the moment. I'd personally add an experienced goalkeeper to the requirements and think there may be an option of Williams at left-back if he keeps progressing as last year. (And drive George Moncur to Borehamwood or Ebbsfleet, but that's just me and my experience of so many away days ruined by him last year!)
Lets get this clear , one minute are saying that league one is obscurity & the next thing you are saying that league one is not amature & our players will get mullered , can you please define what exactly your opinion of division one is, because you appear to have expressed two totally opposite views .
Can anyone think of a reason why a club which doubled its turnover, then sold all its assets, "reinvested" in cheap punts, and spent the absolute minimum before a takeover? Hypothetically speaking like.
Big deal! You've seen us lose some games. Wow! Welcome to the watching a football club lose some games club. It's well subscribed. So if there has been more bad than good in the last 15year's, when was it better? When was this better time that you base your high expectations on? This 9 months without a home win? That's a full season. So when didn't we win at home for a full season? Probably never. . . . Don't tell me - you're counting a close season to suit your argument.
But he won't remember any of that, plus there were some heavy defeats during that time. 7 0 defeats at Reading and West Brom, 5 0 at Blackburn, 5 0 at home to Brum. Hidings and bad runs aren't exclusive to the last 15 years. Like I said further up the thread, sandwiched between Hunter and Wilson was very little, and that was well before real money came into the championship and we could still buy a good player or two.
True about pace, Isgrove & Hedges both have it but both injury prone, definitely could do with some up top to complement Moore & Bradshaw. You’re probably right about a keeper but I really like Adam Davies as a person & he was great for us last time round in league one & we know there’s a good keeper in him he’s just never been the same since the Winnall balls up, just hope a drop to league one & less action will help him. I’m no fan of Moncur either, wouldn’t be upset if he left & I can’t imagine he’ll fit into Stendel’s system.
The Jock Steele to the Alan Clarke years were far worse, to be honest , its all swings & roundabouts , rough & smooth
