    Maybe, just maybe we are thinking long term and want more than just getting back to he championship and stagnating again.

    I don't know about anyone else but my ambition as a Barnsley fan isn't just to appoint a league 1 manager. I want a manager to take us further than that.

    You can't say if he will be a success or not, neither can I but I'm happy to give him an opportunity. One thing I do know is that Grayson is not the next Clough.

    He is an excellent manager 100%. Look how he got PNE from Midtable League 1 to brink of Championship playoffs too.

    If Grayson does nothing else but win promotion, why isn't he managing in the premier league -or even Europe?

    How come he's not at any of these highly successful clubs that he's steered to glory?

    Hannover in a league where they had larger budgets than pretty much every other team. Lets be right it's not that great especially when the guy who tookover did better.

    1. Because he is a top quality EFL manager
    2. Because modern football its the norm to sack managers left right and centre. Only Sunderland where no one could save them did he not solidify the teams in the championship

    So bringing them from 15th in League 1 to 8th in the Championship on a shoestring budget is not impressive.

    When hapless hecky was a messiah until the fact he was being carried by Hourihane and Winnall was exposed in Jan 2017.

    It isn't though is it. We have all commented on Bradford season ticket policy and how it brings in more money than ours. Now we can argue all day long whether or not we think somebody's personal wealth means their company is also wealthy but I don't think it's a guaranteed fact personally

    It's not as simple as how much the owners have, although until our takeover Bradford definitely had more brass. They too have a billionaire owner.
