You will have to excuse me Phil. I don't have much of a Phil-ter and things just come out of my mouth(or fingers, in this case), Phil...

I personally would need to see the make up of the League One opposition's squads before I
could even hope to form an opinion as to how good, bad or otherwise our lads are equipped to
deal with life in the League we are about to play in. Stendel must be on the whole pretty satisfied
with what he has seen thus far, otherwise he would already be making wholesale changes surely.?
I'm hoping we're going to do well in the upcoming season. The impending friendlies should give us an idea as to the depth of the squad and where we need to strengthen, to enable us to play the way Herr Stendel and his coaches prefer.

That isn't the point I am making. What am I saying is that success or failure is not a given, circumstances affect the job you can do and each job is different. There is no evidence at all that Grayson would have been a success with us, any more that there was when Bradford or Sunderland took a chance on him. Personally I would not have chosen him so I'm glad the club didn't.

Well I know from last time we were in League 1 that the oppositions right wingers will enjoy coming to Oakwell. The thought of Ariyibi vs Fryers, Adelukan vs Pinillos sends shivers down the spine!

Well Gboly likely will be. But you know what I mean Mark Marshall, Lionel Ainsworth a lot of skillful pacey wingers.

That's why last time and this time we really need full backs like George Williams who can defend

who knows maybe Stendel and his team can sort out the two we have. I don't think Fryers is as bad as people make out. No he is not amazing by any means but he is used as a scapegoat too much and I have not seen enough of Pinillos to judge him either.

Is Gboly that good anyway? Yes he tore Scowen a new one when we played Chesterfield away when Scowen went in at right back but since then he has moved to Forest and been on loan back in League 1 and doesn't seem to have done that much

Not really, not when you factor in his last two jobs which has to be done if you want a true and honest reflection.

And I should add Phil that I can tell you from experience that taking on the candidate who has the most experience isn't always the best the best option, in fact depending on the remit of the job, it can be counter productive.
