When England beat Argentina in 2002, we watched it in North Bar, a few doors down from the Grand Theatre. Guess what was on at the Grand? Yes, Evita. Pub had opened about 6am for the match & after 12 hours drinking imported ales me & a friend managed to breach security & make one of the boxes. Just in time for my solo. This is a true story.
PS Only had listened to first one. Second one is great too though. Not sure on genre. Grindcore? Industrial Thrash?
Second is technical melodic death metal. This is grind core:- This is the closest I can think of that would be industrial thrash:-
This is a brilliant thread! Thanks @John Peachy for starting it (and keeping it alive). Just been going through all the videos on a lazy Saturday afternoon in Hong Kong... Love the Matthew E. White track you posted earlier! @RedKestrel - thx for the Richard Hawley link. Hadn't heard of him before but just ordered some of his vinyl! @Conan Troutman - I should like the stuff you post. I love Killing Joke, Tool, Alcest, but haven't yet been motivated to buy any of the music you have linked so far unfortunately...until the Russian Circles video. Just ordered that album too, so I hope the rest is as good as that track! Oh & @John Peachy ... Dandy Livingston - pure class I've attached an Alcest song. I have all their music on (different coloured) vinyl and never grow bored of it. Won't be everyone's cup of tea though:
I've given up with the labels now, it's just too confusing (for goats, anyway). Now I have just use Great, Good, Mediocre, and Rubbish. On the Goat Scale, "Harper Lewis" is a officially Great. I came across it accidentally a while ago and had forgotten all about it, so thanks for posting. What a cracking thread this is! This next one won't be everybody's cup of tea, but it's one of the few cover versions I enjoy just as much as the original.
