I went for the FA Cup game a few years ago. A proper match at a proper ground. Memorable only for an excellent Kevin Betsy goal, and a Mitch Ward hissy fit.
I missed that, living down south as I was. You’re right - it’s s proper old fashioned ground. It’s hard to imagine though, looking round, that they had one year at Second Division level in the 1970s and entertained Man Utd in a league match! That was their one season sculling around the lower leagues
It may be your last ever visit as it's their last season at Bootham Crescent. I've been loads of times as had a Mate who supported York and I used to go with him to midweek games when we didn't have a match. Unfortunately, a late finish from work and the traffic from the Great Yorkshire Show meant that I was unable to make it tonight.
It will be - I know that, hence the reason for wanting to be here tonight, I went via Knaresborough cos I knew how bad the Wetherby Road would be
Was hoping to get to the game given I live in York. Typically my wife had to go to the hospital for a scan and has only just come back. Guess the France - Belgium game will have to do. Doubt the quality will be as good
It sounds like a strong line up for us. Have we gone with a normal 4-4-2, with McGeehan & Potts as the central midfield two, and Moore & Bradshaw up front together ?.
Thats good to hear, and whether its because Tom has raised his game to put himself in the shop window or not, we'll have to see. That might be similar to the team for the opening day against Oxford actually. Walton, McCarthy, Lyndsey, Jackson, Fryers, Isgrove, McGeeha, Potts, Hedges, Moore, Bradshaw.
We’ve put out a strong side first half and showing some class. Also chipping too many balls into touch instead of to a man Three well taken goals though and a very good away following. More of us than York fans I think
