Only by that knob head Keane. I was really hoping Wright was going to stick one on him.

The goal was coming we were under pressure for 75 mind of the 120 . Our forwards and midfield were giving the ball to Croatia but they’re blaming defenders for not holding out . Unbelievable !!!

Stones, McGuire, Trippier, Walker and Pickford have been magnificent in this tournament, Kane too but he needs the service and the midfield is just far too weak

If Stones is made a scapegoat for that defeat then we’re listening to that phenomenon known as ‘the knobhead ‘England’ fan’. If someone would like to put forward that view on this board, can I politely suggest you simply Fvck off. Thank you.

The Croatian goal scorer was tucked in between Stones and Maguire and then came in from behind Stones. To just blame Stones is simply wrong.

    Blame is a harsh word.

Stones' job is to stop him though. And he didn't. He was looking around elsewhere and reacted too late.

Just like Walker could have thrown himself forward to stop the first goal.

    Nobody's perfect.

Maybe their forwards were just too clever.

I don’t doubt that. My point was blame being heaped on one player for failing to cut out a very good finish, as opposed to player(s) who failed to put away chances that Willie Ferry could have scored.

Breathtaking. 3 shots on target all match, 2 from defenders, one of which was Stones. 3 Stones interventions kept us in it. All his fault though, if you listen to the pundits.

Pinching a living, all of them.

We lost as a team, just like we won as a team. It's fine margins because we could have scored more when we were on top, we could have defended better for both goals, our midfield was too stretched. Anyone who singles out Stones, or any single player, is knob who should probably choose another sport to watch because football isn't for them.

Too late once he got in front of him that was it. There was a lack of communication between Stones and Maguire.

Lost in midfield, which was always likely to cost us today against Brozovic, Modric and Rakitic. Henderson was shattered doing two jobs because Lingard and Alli are number 10s. Maybe in time they’ll adjust, adapt, but against the top sides you need more than one midfielder with some nous and will to get back and in line.

Might have been an idea to play Delph with Henderson and play just one of Alli or Lingard. But hindsight etc.

Loved the journey. I care about the national team again. Southgate is a dream. And little kids at 8 years old (like me with Italia 90) will have watched this side and been enthused.

    Nothing negative about this.

But it’s back to the proper footy. Like I said the other day in that dedicated thread - club over country every day of the week. A win over Oxford means much more. Sorry.

Yeah well as long as you don't come on here spouting ******** about how everything's alright down the Well, and about how we should all keep calm and trust what's going on, before eventually disappearing when the **** hits the fan and finally saying that your posts were only your opinion.

A win over Oxford means much more.

    Sorry.

    You keep repeating this.

Of course it’s my opinion, I type words via my mind.

I’ve never disappeared either, and I stand by anything I’ve said that you refer to. Events and incidents might alter the landscape we work within, but that’s life. I never expect everything to land perfectly and instantly.

Anyway, you’ve took this off topic, and having read such as yourself over the last year etc, I’ve learnt not to engage in club speak where unnecessary.

    Exciting times and that.
