Any chippies you swear by? I've always gone to the one down the alleyway in the town centre, Princes. Love their batter and gravy. Last couple of times I've been though it's made me badly and it's only this place that does it. Some of the others just don't taste the same though. Any suggestions for a new chip oyl? Love the Wetherby Whaler near Wakey but it's a bit of a distance to go for some snap
2 chippys I really like are the one on darfield road in cudeth (this could be best one) and y-pas at kek
Tunstall Cross in Wombwell are good but seemingly never open. If you're ever passing near York I recommend Miller's in Haxby. We did a detour on the way back from Bempton to call in - best I have had in years - fish was perfect and chips were too.
Wetherby whaler is awesome, but the best locally by a mile is the main fish and chip shop in Wombwell near wombwell main cricket club. Fresh good quality fish, cooked fresh to order every time. You can even find out the boat they cane in on. And their pies are from Rob Roy farm shop.
Never understood why somebody would buy a business and then only open it for about 10 hours a week but most local chippy seem to
A plus one for Shaws of Dodworth. Perfect fish every time, their batter is to die for. I always stop off on my way over from Manchester.
I’m not one for new potatoes chipped, so all chippys are ***** to me this time of year, best chippy ive ever been to is on green lane in Rawmarsh. Round here the one near where i live is quality in winter months when i use it, turn left just after the post office on Pogmoor road coming away from the hospital.
Morrison Road chippy in Darfield is very good. Proper chippy too as they don’t do kebabs and that, just what you want from a chippy.
Shaw fish is good, I mean its not perfect but it's very good but I always feel short changed. The portion sizes are tiny for what you pay. I know their idea is quality over quantity but I just feel the quality isn't quite high enough to justify the tiny portions and prices. IMO they were better before they moved
Has anyone been to Wayne's place in Worsbrough? Always want to try it but something about it puts me off
