I'd agree with trying to do something 'on trend'. As you say, street food is all the rage at the minute, as is gin. We need to do something do get the younger generation and women into the ground and serving warm flat lager and something that half resembles a burger isn't going to do it. I am interested in the fruity cider someone mentioned above though... I can't stand traditional cider but I do like the fruity ones that are become more popular recently. Give me a Dark Fruits and one of those wood fired pizzas and I'd happily part with the best part of a tenner. I'm not going to pay a penny for a pint of Carling and one of those 'burgers' we currently serve though.
Am just looking forrard to another season of tekkin mi wet wipes, sanitiser spray and dry cloth to clean mi £300+ seat. Aint life grand.
As a follow up to your query, old mate, someone has written their name on the mural already. https://twitter.com/hashtag/KingRonnie?src=hash
I hope that the murals are respected... get some of our legends to sign it by all means, but I hope no one else does..... but that's like asking the morons not to go onto the pitch at the final match innit.
I believe the mural will be respected, but I do like your idea that the likes of Neil Redfearn and Trevor Aylott, for example, put their names on it.
I do not know how many murals are commissioned , but we have many names that are legends in the Barnsley history , and not all are players. It would be good to have them done too. Every manager that won us a promotion , the teams too. Rimmo, Rev Preedy.... and of course Patrick.
