If Bradshaw were to leave, I'd put Thiam in as his replacement.
In all my years of watching Barnsley, I rarely get a starting XI right, irrespective of who the manager/Head Coach has been.:D

I thought that back when you were a lad they only had 11 players in the whole squad :)

We didn't play in red & white, either. Everything was sepia coloured!
I'd like to think the team I've selected is balanced and has everyone playing in their correct position. Or I could simply be clutching at straws!

Not able to go today. How did Thiam play?
I’m afraid I don’t see him as an asset. I’d prefer to see just one winger and us making a place for Potts.

I thought he looked really good today. Strong, fit and skilfull on the ball but it's all about opinions isn't it

Sepia? We all know that sepia hadn't been invented when you first started watching Barnsley. I think your team is balanced, I wouldn't be upset with it

'Sepia hadn't been invented', yer gret daft sod!:D
Like you, I'd like to see some of our own youngsters given an opportunity this season. However, if they are, I certainly won't get on their backs and start criticising them if they make an error. It's my opinion, these young 'uns need encouragement far more.

Can't we all just agree to pick one young kid who we will all direct our abuse at? A sacrificial lamb. My vote goes to Ben Williams for absolutely no reason at all.

    Booooo he's **** that Williams.

Surprised people are suggesting 352 considering we've hardly played it in pre season and don't have any natural wingbacks on the left. Seems clear to me the team starting against hull will be pretty much what we start with on sat, with maybe isgrove starting instead of hedges.

Davies (Walton looks nervous as a sweeper keeper and needs games I think)

Cavaré (comfortably better than McCarthy and should really standout this season if he remains fit)
Jackson (improved so much since joining the club, looks a completely different player)
    Lindsay
Pinillos (excellent left foot with Championship experience. Like Cavaré he needs a run of games in order for us to see the best of him but his quality is unquestionable)

Isgrove (poor last season due to injuries and the team’s general poor form but should tear this league apart)
    Dougall
Mowatt (I would’ve picked Moncur ahead of Mowatt prior to Tuesday and Saturday but Mowatt has produced two excellent performances and goes into the season high on form and full of confidence. He’s the one to watch, has an unreal amount of natural ability and a first touch to die for. Arguably adds something else as a set piece specialist as well. Huge season ahead for him)
Thiam (gets so much undeserved abuse. I think a lot of it is because he was billed rather foolishly by the club as a striker when even in France he played wide in a three. He offers a great deal as a winger and his performances on Tuesday and Saturday certainly merit a start on Saturday.

    Bradshaw
    Moore

    Subs:-

Walton (I’d personally like to see Walton leave on loan to further his own development if he isn’t first choice)
    McCarthy
    Pinnock
    Moncur
McGeehan/Potts (one or the other for me. I don’t see any point in having so many central midfielders on the bench)
    Hedges (if fit)
    Adeboyejo

    Notable absentees:-

    Fryers
    Bird
    McGeehan/Potts

I went with a 3-5-2 as we only really have 1 fit winger in Isgrove so we might as utilise the cover we have in defence and midfield plus that system helps us play Moore and Bradshaw together.

Thiam’s a winger. He hasn’t played as a central striker for ages.

Fair comment, but think Thiam has played well enough in pre-season to warrant a start on the wing. Do think we could do with another winger and forward before the window shuts though.

I agree Moore and Bradshaw look weak to me - Moore is a good battering ram but he can’t finish for toffee and Bradshaw offers little presence and no skill but he can finish. Pinnock and Walton/Davies worry me at the back, I think midfield looks strongest. I think we’ll learn a lot after the first 4/5 games and I really hope Moore finds his shooting boots and Pinnock takes his roller skates off but I remain worried.

Think this would be my lineup
    Although maybe McCarthy for Cavare?

I just think the 3 centre halves are the best defenders at the club and feel Isgrove and Hedges could get up and down.
Our full backs are suspect and Cavaré just terrifies me whenever he’s out under pressure.
Would be amazed if he went 352 but would love to see him give it a go.

Possibly. I'd be quite relaxed with that.
