Anyone else watching it on Gold? One of my favourite northern comedies. Pub always reminds me of the strawberry near Stockports ground
Watched it originally. Always loved it, my sort of humour, got tickets for the stage show in Nottingham too. There was an interview with Craig Cash about it on BBC 6Music last Friday on Radcliffe and Maconie. Well worth a listen on iPlayer, interview started just after 2.30 so that's an hour and half into the show. Didn't say a lot about the content of the stage play - didn't want to spoil it obviously, but there's a smoking shelter and the 2 bobbies are definitely in it. Crime can't crack itself!
...but .... do you like circuses fitzytyke2? Do you like circuses Mateo Corbo? Do you like circuses Ade? Comedy gold.
Have you not got Dopey with you ?.....salt of the earth them kids Always listen to the messages Phil and Nige get when they leave the pub
And there was me thinking that I was the only one who loved this comedy........ must be summet in watter
It was one that I found by accident, mid series - a bit like league of gentleman and phoenix nights. Saw the odd episode but didn't really know much about them, but have watched them again over the years. I just love northern comedy and films. The eras have changed but the values and the humour is timeless.
Loved it. Still chuckle at the old misery Tommy with his 'Them I work with don't like me...' routine. Always had the hots for Tanya (Susan Cookson) the barmaid. My mate met her in Sheffield once- I was dead jealous.
THAT was absolutely brilliant and probably the funniest moment of the series when he gets up and walks out. And Tanya ... snap
Stone cold classic. Got tickets for the Lowry in Salford when they 1st announced a stage version, only for it to be coming to Hull Arena the following month.
