Didn't think the highlights show could get any worse... Then Quest came along and showed me the true meaning of "*****".
Couldn't bring myself to watch it. In my head I hear that bloke who does Quest's "How It's Made" explaining how a football match is put together. Nightmare.
Record Sky Sports News between 6-7 for Goals Express and that's enough. Had our goals on about half six and no need for any highlights show.
Can't see what the problem is, they have 33 games to show in 90 minutes (minus advert times), plus a bit of chat about a few of the games. They covered our game well, and showed Dougall's shot from the halfway line too. What could they do any different?
I wonder what the idea was with moving them to Quest? I mean, both channels are available on Freeview, so it can't be down to the channels reach...
Got BT and Quest isn’t available in HD and the aspect ratio looked to be widescreen squashed into a 4/3. It was like watching TV from the early 80’s
Completely agree mate. Although when Colin Murray mentioned they'd had a lot of tweets about us, he didn't mention us again. I thought after a brief chat about Sunderland, they'd have touched on us for a few seconds, but it wasn't to be. Other than that though, I think you're spot on.
They bought the rights, pure and simple. Highest bidder gets it, like when it went from ITV to BBC to Ch5.
Im not sure what can be done with EFL highlights package as its sold. Almost impossible to make it 'great'. Commercial TV littered with ads, limited time to cover 3 divisions effectively, especially as there will always be a preference for the higher leagues. Time slot Sat evening pretty much set. I think it would be better for the regions to be covered as in the 70s/80s where a highlight show for local teams, interviews etc interested that specific audience. Otherwise its clear each club will only get the 20 seconds a week.
Its very simple. When we win I watch the highlights show. When we lose, I don't. I haven't seen it much for a year so find it difficult to compare to Ch5.
