Good interview, more of what was said in that original press conference and a bit of insight into what their plans are. https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/ifollow/
A lot of talk about the improvements to the stadium. I've seen the mural in the Ponty End and I like it, but other than that, what have they done? Genuine question, not having a dig.
They've started to vastly improve the family stand concourse in East Stand. And I'll use this to say ......... next time some of you go into the East Stand lower through the turnstiles it'll blow your mind. I've been involved with the heritage project and I've seen the wall, floor, post decorations (for want of a better word) and can deffo say we'll have other clubs coming to look to maybe replicate it!
We got new speakers and I think they relaid the indoor pitch. But I'm struggling to think of owt else off the top of my head
I noticed against Hull they have started painting the steelwork on the underside of the upper east as some of the top tier seats were covered and someone posted on here that mcgheean said we had spent 80k on the players gym, something been done in the family area I think. Unsure if anything else.
Really like Conway, I feel he has a good grasp on stuff. I'm sure all the board have their input, including, of course James Cryne. Just think he is a smart bloke & is someone who will listen. Mr Lee I see as a money man, but a very clever bloke. He is never gonna give you much in an interview. I think we are fortunate that the legend Mr Cryne Snr found some responsible people to take over the club. Running a football club is largely a thankless task. I ran a team in the Nelson League in 1983/4 but resigned mid season. We had a poor record, including a 3-2 defeat to Ryhill WMC, a team that hadn't won a game for 2 seasons. (I scored from a diving header though, that should have gone viral on youtube, if it had existed). Joking aside. COYR.
We have started to paint t the structural steelwork of the East Stand. But only done 3 bays. Not sure if it was the weather or damage to pitch which stopped them. Would have thought they’d have had it completed over summer - they started fairly early on it.
Where? Not taking the p*ss, I genuinely didn't see anything different in the East Stand lower concourse other that some metal frames on the walls, as if something is going to be put up.
What was with the random close up shot of Conway’s under stress, suit jacket button. At 1 min 20 secs.
The family stand concourse is the floor up. At the away end side. All painted out. Wall decor started. They've got pool tables etc going in there and wall mounted game stations etc
Didn't realise that. That's a fantastic idea. They both speak well, and speak rationally, which I like.
Fantastic to hear from them. I’ve wanted to hear a bit more from them and it’s great to hear a bit more about what they see in the future. More positive news.
I was shocked to walk round at half time and see everyone supping. Certainly went down a treat from what I could see.
